About the Author

Ann Bancroft is the first woman in history to cross the ice to both the North and South Poles. She has been featured in the books Remarkable Women of the Twentieth Century and Women of Courage; inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame; and named Ms. magazine's "Woman of the Year." I have 8 nieces and nephews, ranging in age from 1 to 12, and bought a few of these books for them as a gift. THEY LOVED IT!
The younger ones loved all the colorful pictures and drawings, and the opportunity in the back of the book to "Draw their own Dream", and the older children loved the adventure and excitement as the journey unfolded. It made for great nighttime reading with the children for several nights in a row during my visit, and will be a keepsake amongst their collection. Fantastic!

I purchased this book after taking a couple of photography classes from the gentleman who illustrated it. I found it to be a good read which was nicely illustrated even in my adult years. I passed it along to siblings with children and they all enjoyed it. It is a nice inspirational story with historical significance. Highly recommended.
