I fell in love with Ann-Margret the minute I saw State Fair and Then Bye Bye Birdie sent me into orbit! I sat through the movie 5 times!~ I also went particularly beserk for her in Viva Las Vegas, the Swinger and The Pleasure Seekers! She gets better and better. I love this HOT red head!

What more can you say? 133 songs and a fabulous, full-cover, HARDBOUND book??? It's terrific! And Ann-Margret is one of the most underrated singers around: soulful, purring, kittenish and uninhibited. If she had focused more on her singing and less on films, she probably would be recognized up there with Eartha Kitt and Peggy Lee as far as female vocalists go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hooray for Bear Family Records, October 18, 1999

Who would have guessed Ann Margret sang so well? When you think of her, you think of a model who is as seductive as all get out, but hey get out...she can sing!!! I guess the first Ann Margret record I ever bought was I just don't understand. It had that pout pout, ever so pouty sound of a young jilted lover. Who the hell would ever jilt Ann margret. You'd have to be nuts. The next stuff I heard was via the Flintstones cartoon show. That was the best of the best. This is how Ann Margret will always be to me. The bye bye birdie girl helping Fred and Barney out in a jam. But, when she bared her whole soul and anatomy in Carnal Knowldge thats when me along with the rest of America, started to take her seriously. The seductive voice was the voice of all vulnerable women. Just as plaintive and full of intensity as you could get. She was like an open sore waiting for the wanton soothing lips of a lover to ease the pain. That is the emotion she projects. But more than that. When the passions cooled and she let her energy rip, she was the Vegas dynamo few could top. Even Elvis in his prime had to share the spotlight. The fact that the set focuses on her early years, does not mean this is a set for the teeners. She really has a way with a ballad. Also, the fact that her Sloan and Barri set is included in all its glory makes the set even more of a tasty package. All I can say is bravo to the Bear Family. Now what about Connie Stevens, and Shelley Fabares??? We need box sets pronto.
