Ann-Margret and Art Greenhaw have teamed up again for a sparkling and refreshing adaptation of xmas standards that have taken on a whole new meaning.. The arrangements are great and a few like "what child is this", "g-d rest ye merry gentleman",and "the manger song" are haunting with a rock edge .."silent night" is fresh and original with what i believe have Swedish lyrics ---the jordinares and Ann-Margret seem to be enjoying "Go tell it on the mountain"---The entire package was a delight to listen to and I hope that this cd gets airplay and exposure --"g-d rest ye merry gentlemen" remains a favorite and this arragement is hip--Ive loved Ann-Margret for a long time and love all the oldies --it is nice that Ann-Margret is still re-inventing herself---in the 80's she was a perfect fit for the Rock and heavy guitar of Paul Sabu--would have liked to hear more of ann-margrets interpretation of sabus music--But 20 years later Art Grenhaw has captured the sensitive--and still so hot and very sexy------Ann-margret

This is the best Christmas cd I've ever heard. I play it all the time. I got this the week of Thanksgiving, and I got a Viva Las Vegas DVD too. Ann has become my favorite singer because of these and she'll be your favorite after playing this CD. She's awesome and this music is awesome. I wonder if she's made a DVD of these songs? She could also dance to these cool Christmas songs like in Viva Las Vegas. I hope she'll sing these songs on TV just like she does on this CD with this same band and these cool musicians.

I had been anxiously awaiting this album since I read about it a year back, and the CD is the ultimate American Christmas album. Every song, every arrangement is simply magnificent, a Christmas album that will go down as the very best in the pop standard arena. Ann-Margret perfectly combines the holy and the sexy for the most entertaining CD of the year, and one that I'll play not only at Christmas, but all the year through. The playfullness of Jingle Bells is the perfect counter to the sacredness of "I Hear The Bells". Moviedom's gain with Ann-Margret has been recording's lost, and let's only hope that the great Ann-Margret, recording star, will issue many more CDs as dynamie as this! Wait until you hear Ann-Margret's take on "What Child Is This" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen". If you can imagine a Christmas/holy version of the lounge classic "13 Men" then these are it. Fabulous guitars, fabulous vocals, fabulous beat group/best of pop-rock sound here and on all selections. You can feel the emotion in the grooves. No synthesized, fake-o sounds here, just "live" "you are here" exciting music with sounds created by real musical instruments and voices. This is a magnificent companion CD to Ann-Margret's GOD IS LOVE, with this Christmas CD having more of a pop bent, and GOD IS LOVE being more country. God Bless singer Ann-Margret. God Bless this CD's music makers and directors. This CD has made my Christmas and my 2005 to come! It's the greatest!

Since this CD came out three years ago , I find myself listening to it , even out of season. Ann Margret makes every song so sexy and wonderful to listen to. If given the chance, this Cd would get airplay. Listen up radio stations , give Bing, Frank and Burl Ives a rest this hoilday season , play Ann Margret!!

This CD album is a career highlight for Ann-Margret. She sings her little heart out on this one, and the results are one of the very best seasonal music collections of all time. I picked up this album while it still has a cult following before some mega label picks it up. It's got it all-the ultra-feminine, lady-loves-me vocals, the perfect song selection, exquisite, soulful, slightly-funky and rootsy musicianship, expert production by Grammy Award winner Art Greenhaw of Texas, and those fabulous oooh-ahhhh---doo wap-pers, The Jordanaires. Traditional American pop music at its highest and best. Not only will this be the first CD I put in the changer every November, but I find myself playing this inspiring, fun and rocking CD every week of the year. I predict in a few years (if not before) this gem of a Christmas musical will join the other greatest pop Christmas classic albums right alongside Phil Spector's Christmas, Andy Williams' first Christmas album, Elvis's Christmas album, The Ventures Christmas Album, Herb Alpert's-----well, you get the idea! You're latching onto a classic here, and as soon as it's discovered by the masses, you'll be hearing Ann's GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN, WHAT CHILD IS THIS, and the others at Cracker Barrels, Starbucks and other shops all over America. Give her a little room, 'cause Ann-Margret is about to be as known for Christmas music as Elvis's Blue Christmas. A better twin pack of CDs you won't find anywhere-Ann-Margret's Christmas Carol Collection combined with Ann-Margret's God Is Love-The Gospel Sessions. Can't wait to see what this label is going to release next on this singer, one of the top song stylists, People Magazine's Most Beautiful-Ann-Margret. Beware of an album that doesn't have an occasional crackpot review! To the reviewer that wanted this to be an entire whimsical, kitten-with-a-whip, lounge Christmas album from Ann Margret, I say "Humbug!" This masterpiece has everything from sexy holiday music to real Christmas music. But I want the heart-filled, dramatic Ann Margret sound and message of Christmas along with the light fluff---which is exactly the gem that we have here. The amazing Ann Margret blows us away with her dramatic interpretations of Christmas classics along with an occasional fresh, new song or adaptation. Here, throughout this record, she charms, she seduces, she uplifts, she glorifies, she praises, she rocks, she twangs, she croons, she does a "diva" turn. An England music magazine called this "the greatest Christmas album of the past 10 years by a female vocalist." I call it one of the Top 10 greatest Christmas records of all time. This will become a must-listen-to album for you and yours every holiday season, it will become a family tradition. And if you are like me, you'll sneak plays all through the year just for inspiration to brighten your spirits.

I bought this based on a single song I had by Ann-Margret on a Christmas Compilation album. That song was great, sexy and witty and festive. Alas, this album is a real let down. It's just all treacly goo. If you like overly sentimental Christmas music you'll like it.
