About the Author
Author Barbara C. Koldon grew up in a small town in Wisconsin. She received a degree from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, majoring in Elementary Education, and minoring in Library Science. Her teaching career began as a Library Media Specialist in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. She later moved to Illinois, married and, with her husband, Bob, raised four beautiful daughters. Through the years, dog show competitions and animal events became fun, memory filled family weekends. Pets of every variety were always a part of the family. With a lifelong love of writing and animals, she was well suited for writing a story about a dog, Anna Finds a Home. Illustrator Nancy Wood Taber earned a BFA from New Mexico State University, and subsequently developed her career as a professional artist. Her primary medium is colored pencil, and her subject matter is primarily nature -- especially wild and domestic animals. Her strong relationships with her animal companions, enables her to skillfully capture the physical beauty and spiritual essence of her subjects. In addition, her artwork received an award at the Colored Pencil Society of America International Exhibition. She currently lives in the mountains near Tijeras, New Mexico, with her husband and their many animals.
