Another Mya Reissue, Retitled and Recklessly Regurgitated...,
By
This review is from: Anna: Pleasure the Torment (Ws Sub) (DVD)
I had high hopes when Mya hit the scene with hard-to-find European releases from the late 60`s/mid 70`s, but their commitment to their cult audience is insulting. None of their releases have ANY extras, slideshows, filmographies, or even trailers to promote their other releases (which is downright dumb,as they won`t survive w/o them). They don`t remaster their transfers, so most look like they`re old if not slipshod sources, they simply reissue out-of-print releases with a wham-bam-thank-you-ma`am disregard to the people buying them. Another annoying habit they`ve taken on is reissuing films with new titles, of which this is one - this is a reissue of 'Secrets Of A Call Girl', which was originally on the now sadly defunct NoShame Label (RIP) and is a better film than the other reviewer stated, IMHO.(See my review for the original title). Where as NoShame packaged their titles handsomely, brimming w/ extras, commentaries, trailers, bios, trailers, etc., all you`re getting this time out is the film itself, period. Mya is currently raiding the NoShame vaults and reissuing a host of other Edwige Fenech/Klaus Kinski 70`s releases, which is great if you need to fill gaps in your collection without being ripped-off with out-of-print pricetags (altho Mya`s prices are ridiculous for bare-bones repackaging), but I just wished they cared about their core audience. When they go under, you won`t hear me woefully reminiscing using terms like 'sadly defunct'- more like 'good riddance'...

Secrets of a Call Girl,
By Cult Movie Maniac (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Anna: Pleasure the Torment (Ws Sub) (DVD)
This was released a few years ago by Noshame films under the title, Secrets of a Call Girl. The film is somewhat boring, doesn't fit into a distinguishable genre, and isn't the best of Edwige Fenech's roles. Worth a rental if you're a die hard Fenech fan.
