This is a review for the RKO Double Feature Comedy VHS video tape
featuring the films ANNABEL TAKES A TOUR (1938) and MAID'S NIGHT OUT
(1938), released by WB in 1995.


ANNABEL TAKES A TOUR (1938) directed by Lew Landers. When Wonder Pictures fires Annabel Allison's, played by Lucille Ball, whacky publicity agent, Morgan, played by Jack Oakie, she sees smooth sailing ahead until she learns that a rival star marries a Marquis to the accompaniment of reams of publicity. Annabel then insists that the studio rehire Morgan for her European tour, which becomes a cavalcade of slapstick publicity stunts when Annabel finally meets an eligible Viscount.


MAID'S NIGHT OUT (1938) dby Ben Holmes. The son of a milk company owner works as a milkman for a month in order to prove to his father that he is responsible. During his early morning milk route he regularly encounters an atractive girl who he thinks is a maid. With Joan Fontaine, Allen Lane, Cecil Kellaway, Billy Gilbert, Hedda Hopper, Vicki Lester.


I give these two solid comedies Four Stars.
