The complete collection of Tacitus in one volume. Everyman's Library has delivered a very beautiful book. Not just for the content of the material, but, for the style and layout. The quality is so superb, that it should be considered an heirloom. Something that you pass from generation to generation.

Tacitus could paint vivid and flourid images with his words. I found myself walking through Rome with him. If you are a Tacitus fan, scrap all plans for any other volume than this one. He is descriptive without verbosity; almost conversational in tone. I found The Agricola and the Germania singularly eye-opening. All four writings: The Annals, History, Agricola and Germania, have a tone and pace that captures you within arm-reach of Tactitus.

Eleanor Cowan has raised Tacitus to a new generation of ancient Rome enthusiasts. Her revisions to Church and Brodribb appeals to today's reader, without loss of the great quality of their translations.

One of the finest compiled collections of Tacitus you will find anywhere. If you are a fan of ancient Rome, you MUST HAVE this book!

"Everyman Book A" looks like "Everyman Book B" Oh and this book is orange on the outside. Obviously i'm not talking about the jacket. Which is pictured.
