Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

(from readers comments) "I couldn't put it down, and especially liked the character, Anna." "If you want to know what living in a nursing home is like, read Anna's Spring Sunshine." "Health Care's Dark Side." True to form-Very real."

From the Author

After ten years of working with the elderly, I came away convinced that we (non elderly) are losing so much by not making them a real part of our daily life. I'm glad that I got the chance to celebrate life with these people, and to tell the story of some of them.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a contemporary tale of the individual vs the "system, August 29, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Anna's Spring Sunshine (Mass Market Paperback)
An elderly woman is captured by the system of elderly health care, the nursing home, through an injury. This is the story of her struggles to regain her independence and her humanity while coping with an unfeeling bureaucracy. We see how the systm works -- all with good intentions -- but with horrific brutality. In the end, there is victory but with great emotional pain. This is an expose of sorts but with a happy ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully written chilling tale, August 7, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Anna's Spring Sunshine (Mass Market Paperback)
Anna's Spring Sunshine is a beautifully written chilling expose of the nursing home industry. Anna's plight is touching and sad. However, the hope for a "happy ending" is inherent in the very title. A quick read,,,, even better the second time around. Highly recommended for a few wonderfully entertaining hours in your armchair, at the beach, or enroute to a vacation destination.
