This is a contemporary tale of the individual vs the "system, August 29, 1999

This review is from: Anna's Spring Sunshine (Mass Market Paperback)
An elderly woman is captured by the system of elderly health care, the nursing home, through an injury. This is the story of her struggles to regain her independence and her humanity while coping with an unfeeling bureaucracy. We see how the systm works -- all with good intentions -- but with horrific brutality. In the end, there is victory but with great emotional pain. This is an expose of sorts but with a happy ending.

Beautifully written chilling tale, August 7, 2001

This review is from: Anna's Spring Sunshine (Mass Market Paperback)
Anna's Spring Sunshine is a beautifully written chilling expose of the nursing home industry. Anna's plight is touching and sad. However, the hope for a "happy ending" is inherent in the very title. A quick read,,,, even better the second time around. Highly recommended for a few wonderfully entertaining hours in your armchair, at the beach, or enroute to a vacation destination.
