1.0 out of 5 stars What a scalawag
After reading the reviews for My pirate story by Jeffery Williams. I ordered the book. It was boring, preachy and tedious. Mr. Williams should be keelhauled!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best!!!, February 22, 2006
This review is from: Anne Bonney: My Pirate Story (Paperback)
The BEST work, by far, that I have read about Anne Bonney (Mary Reade, Calico Jack and James Bonney). A MUST read even if you are not that interested in pirates. There is so much more to this book than just their pirate lives. Williams not only take you to different places, but plunges the depths of love and friendships. I so wish I had an "Edward" in my life! You have to read the book to know what I'm talking about! R

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny, May 9, 2006
This review is from: Anne Bonney: My Pirate Story (Paperback)
I took an interest in Anne Bonny last year and happened to stumble upon this page during my online research. I was extremely excited when I got this book in the mail and tore into the package to begin reading with my expectations quite high. Its been a week and I have finished the book as of this morning. WOW! This book indeed pushed way past every expectation I had. The writer wrote with such captivation and depth that I found myself really caring for Bonny, Reade and Rackham. I finished the last chapter with tears in my eyes which is a huge first for me after reading so many books. I have fallen in love with the story of Anne Bonny and have been starting to search for other Anne Bonny books to indulge in. I HIGHLY recommend this book for it is a great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars I was HOOKED from start to finish!! Wonderful reading!!, February 22, 2006
This review is from: Anne Bonney: My Pirate Story (Paperback)
This writer enveloped me into Anne Bonney's life before, during and after her pirate days. He did a wonderful job weaving interesting historical facts within this fictional portrayal. I laughed, I cried, and when I came to the end of the book I felt as though I was saying good-bye to close friends. I literally had a difficult time putting this book down...I was SO taken by the twists and turns of the plot and how the whole story comes together! I was shocked to see that this was written by a first-time author as he (Jeffery Williams) is a master storyteller in my book!! I was pleased when reading this novel to see that it does not go the way of the "stereotypical" pirate tale. It's fresh and cinematic...It would make a wonderful movie! I definitely recommend it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars You've got to read this book!, July 13, 2006
This review is from: Anne Bonney: My Pirate Story (Paperback)
I was immediately transported into an adventure where I could not wait to turn the page to see what would happen next. A very enjoyable read and an amazing ride into a swash buckling adventure. Jeff Williams does an amazing job at speaking from a woman's perspective, so much so that you forget the author is a man. (He does acknowledge the challenge he embarked on and the assistance he received from his wife Katherine, whom I know personally to be a true pirateress at heart!) I found myself missing the main character as I ended the book.

I bought the book as a friend...and I highly recommend the book because I LOVED IT!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Williams threw me on the ship with Anne!, June 6, 2006
This review is from: Anne Bonney: My Pirate Story (Paperback)
I ended up staying up for hours to read this book when I should have been sleeping instead. I couldn't wait to see what happened next. Each chapter was filled with adventure, witty humor, love, and attempts to satisfy many insatiable hearts. As a recent graduate from college going through transition on an annual basis (so far), I can absolutely relate in terms of seeking for the kind of adventure that Anne sought to satisfy her heart. I may not be a pirate, but my desire to find that something that can help me to see more of the world, to give what I can to make this world my playground, to find that soulmate that will be my other half with dignity, strength, integrity, honor, and the desire to jump out of the bubble that so many people want to put me under as a female in a male dominant world-- I can relate. It was a page turner that made me wanna go back to reading it again. Williams did an amazing job creating many unforgettable scenes with vivid imagery and lively dialogues. It was a novel that included everything from growing pains, survival of the fittest, love, hatred, forgiveness and sacrifice-- everything a great book should have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kudos to Jeffery Williams, March 22, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Anne Bonney: My Pirate Story (Paperback)
For a first time author all I can say is Kudos to Jeffery Williams for an entertaining and informative saga in "Anne Bonney: My Pirate Story". The scenery and characters were colorful. As I read I felt I was experiencing every aspect of her life struggles. I was especially impressed with how Mr. Williams was able to instill the woman's voice in the dialogue. I could definitely "hear" Anne's voice. Her sense of adventure and spunk came through loud and clear while masquerading as a male pirate and then wheeling her femininity to obtain her way. A fun read to be sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars I agree! Engaging!, February 26, 2006
This review is from: Anne Bonney: My Pirate Story (Paperback)
I've read the other reviews on this book and agree with them in one word; ENGAGING! If you enjoy reading, I would suggest ordering this book! I went to the iuniverse site (the publisher at www.iuniverse.com) and was able to see the cover and read some out of the book before ordering it. I am disappointed that Amazon does not have the cover on here yet. It's a nice one and catches your eye. But, it's nice to order off of the Amazon site if you want to order more than 1 copy because then you get the free shipping. Back to the book-again, again, an engaging and superb reading experience!
