Ann McDougal's insights into her aunt Anne Savage provide a wonderful tapestry to compliment Anne Savage's art work. Well written, with lovely art plates. Gives historical context to the art world during the height of the Group of Seven.

This book is a must-have for students and lovers of Canadian art. Anne Savage was the long time friend and lover of the famous Group of Seven artist A.Y Jackson. This book shows rare photos of the subject and her Group of Seven friends, chronicles Anne Savage's life and times, as well as gives insights into the art scene of the day. Well worth a read!
