4.0 out of 5 stars Very tasty
The sticky rice is perfect, just microwave it in the container it comes in for 2 min. The paper thin wraps are very small and it is a bit difficult to roll. The result is a bit of a mess but tastes great. I put a small amount of crab meat next to the rice. Each pack comes with 10 wraps, a container of rice, and one soy sauce pack. 3.0 out of 5 stars A bit disappointed!
I had purchased these at Walmart before and loved them. But when I used the first one the rice was quite a bit dryer then the walmart purchase. I don't know whether since they were bought in bulk they sat in a warehouse or what happened. I probably won't purchase them this way again. Sorry.

The calorie count is 340. But with 1/2 it is a reasonable 170 and is enough for a lunch. I bought it when it was a gold box item for $10. It is worth that, but I will not purchase again for a higher price. Overall it is easy to make, tastes great and is a great option to have around since it does not require any refrigeration.

My kids love this meal! It's easy for them to cook - just pop it in the microwave (caution rice is hot!) - and they then have fun rolling up the rice in the small nori sheets. A healthy, simple, tasty and fun lunch.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love Sushi!, November 10, 2006
This review is from: Annie Chun's Rice Express Sushi Wraps Sticky White Rice, 8.1-Ounce Package (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
This is the best stuff ever! My attempts at sushi rice at home failed, never sticky, not seasoned right, etc.. This takes that step out, and with the just a few more things (california rolls-avacado,cucumber, crab) you have perfect sushi. The nori is also cut-up into easy to manage strips. The only thing that I thought was included, or at least should be, is a little spoon or paddle to scoop the rice.

The rice turns out excellent, which is quite a surprise considering how easy it is to make. Granted it is very sticky, but they do call it sticky rice now don't they? Throw some cucumber or something else in, and you have sushi. For best results, spring for some real nori, such as Eden Sushi Nori, Toasted Sea Vegetable, 0.6-Ounce Packets (Pack of 6), as what's included are small strips of very thin seaweed.

I grew up in the military and when we lived in Germany, my babysitter was Asian. She used to make sticky rice for us and serve it with seseame toasted seaweed. We would place some of the rice in the seaweed and eat. It was great! I saw these wraps in the store today and decided to try them....I loved it. It took me right back to Germany. The sticky rice turned out fabulous...especially coming from a microwave. I loved it and plan on buying many more kits.

I was a little skeptical about this, after many bad microwavable rice meal experiences, but this was really good! The rice is very tasty, the wrappers are delicious. Since I've started taking college courses on top of my regular work week, I've tried a lot of refridgeration-free microwave meals, and these are the best yet. Planning on keeping them at home, work, and in my backpack.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great For Everyone, July 8, 2007
This review is from: Annie Chun's Rice Express Sushi Wraps Sticky White Rice, 8.1-Ounce Package (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
I bought these because they were rated so well. Our family loves them, especially my 6 and 9 year old daughters. I just heat up the rice and they take it from there. I've cut-up some vegetables to add some variety to them. I recently bought my second case and bought 2 extra cases to bring to friends over the summer. If you like sushi rolls, give them a try.

As soon as I tried this for the first time, I promptly ordered three more cases. The rice is exactly like that in sushi bars - and this is coming from someone who spent many years living in Japan. Not sure why others feel it needs to be seasoned more. The nori sheets are small but I ended up cutting them lengthwise and using them to wrap around a larger portion of rice and my additive of choice (in this case tamago). These kits couldn't be easier to use and anyone, including teens and kids, can do it. Yes, you can assemble your own ingredients separately to make sushi, but for those of us that don't have the time or inclination, these kits are awesome. My only comment is that each kit is supposed to serve two people but realistically it is a meal for one.

4.0 out of 5 stars ALMOST PERFECT, October 6, 2009
This review is from: Annie Chun's Rice Express Sushi Wraps Sticky White Rice, 8.1-Ounce Package (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
I bought this sushi making package with a lot of hesitation. How could this really be good? I am happy to report that I still don't know how but that it is really good.

This package contains a bowl of sushi rice (for microwave use only) that's ready in 1 minute. The rice tastes good straight out of the bowl and there is plenty of it so no need to skimp. You need to provide any additional filling and the wrappers stick to themselves easily. They also include a packet of seasoned soy sauce. No other condiments were provided. A bonus is that it does not need refrigeration and is great in a clutch for a light meal.

Although it is not a complete package (excludes fillings), adding your own food to the sushi rolls is what makes this kit a true gem. My picky kids can add anything they like to make their own personalized sushi rolls. They also love helping! It's a great way to sneak in some veggies (cucumbers & carrots) too.

The only problem I had with this sushi roll kit was the length of the wrappers; they are a little too big to be bite size, especially for the younger crowd. It's minor compared to the rest but it's good to know exactly what you are getting before buying.
