Annie On Dogs is a compilation of magazine articles written by Anne Rogers Clark...one of the most respected judges in the dog world. When Mrs Clark spoke, you listened!! And learned!! Her death in December 2006 was a blow to all who knew her and she may never be "replaced".
If you wish to learn how to conduct yourself in various dog show situations (some very funny), then this is the book for you. If you wish to understand what goes on behind the glamour of televised dog shows, wish to understand things about those crazy people in the ring and just WHY that judge chose that dog, get this book and start reading at the beginning. The wisdom on the pages will astound you. I was fortunate enough to both show under and steward for Mrs Clark and base my own judging format on her example. Read Mrs Clark's book and you'll never regret it!!! A 5 star rating is not high enough. Make this a 20!!!!!!

If you are new to the show world this is a must. Annie describes her early days before she became a judge as well as when she began judging. Some of the antics that went on are priceless!

This is a delightful book that reads like a novel but contains a mountain of interesting information put together by one of the most famous breeders/judges in the world. I recommend it to anybody with an interest in showing, judging and breeding.

Filled with gems of knowledge,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Annie On Dogs (Paperback)
Should be required reading for all Dog show judges, exhibitors & breeders. Easily read anecdotes from the dog show world. Can be picked up & opened to any page & read in bits & pieces. I couldn't put it down though & read it cover to cover. I have reread several times & will do so again. Anne Rogers-Clark was an icon in the dog show world and she shares her enlightening insights & many years of experience in this entertaining & inspiring book. There are many pearls of wisdom in this enjoyable series of articles that she originally wrote for Dogs In Review magazine. You learn, without being aware that you are learning. My only complaint - I wish there was more!!!!

Dog Showing, Show Dogs and Ann Rogers Clark,
This review is from: Annie On Dogs (Paperback)
Annie On Dogs I really enjoyed this book mainly because I had seen Ms. Clark judge numerous times and because I am quite interested in showing dogs and all it encompasses. Definitely recommended for anyone with interests along these lines. Loved her writing almost as much as I loved her!
