5.0 out of 5 stars Hooked on Annie's, will never return to Kraft!
We stopped buying the Kraft mac n' cheese once we got started on Annie's products. The cheese sauce tastes more like real cheese than the sweet, overprocessed Kraft sauce. Once you acquire a taste for Annie's, there's no going back! 3.0 out of 5 stars could be better
When you mix the cheese sauce with milk, the mixture becomes too thin. So I mix a small amount of cheese into the shells along with the other sauce, and this makes it more thick.

We stopped buying the Kraft mac n' cheese once we got started on Annie's products. The cheese sauce tastes more like real cheese than the sweet, overprocessed Kraft sauce. Once you acquire a taste for Annie's, there's no going back! On the other hand, the kids' friends who come over for lunch often turn up their noses at our Annie's mac and cheese, because they are so accustomed to Kraft or the like. I like that Annie's are all-natural, too, but it's mainly the taste that keeps me coming back for more. A note about the shell kind: you get more for your money than the bunny or Arthur shapes. The kids love the cute shapes, so we buy both, but the shells are a better deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is how I perfect it, January 22, 2011

1) I use a 1/2 cup of Dannon NonFat Plain Yoghurt (per the instructions) and find that even without butter or milk, the sauce is creamy, tangy, perfect.

2) Tabasco for a kick

3) Parsley (dried will do) because it is awesome.

4) Cracked red and black pepper because that's how I roll.

5) Tuna if you like tuna.

Result = wholesome joy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Organic and delicious comfort food..., February 10, 2008
This review is from: Annie's Homegrown Totally Natural Shells & Real Aged Cheddar Mac & Cheese, 6-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 12) (Grocery)
This is without a doubt one of the best "mac and cheese" products around. And it is good for you too! I noticed some negative reviews about the cheese sauce being too thin. YOU NEED TO DRAIN THE SHELLS REALLY WELL and this will remedy that. They are like tiny water buckets, so I stirred and shook the water out of them while they were in my collander and it did the trick. ENJOY!

5.0 out of 5 stars Try it with yogurt for more flavor, January 17, 2010
This review is from: Annie's Homegrown Totally Natural Shells & Real Aged Cheddar Mac & Cheese, 6-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 12) (Grocery)
I suggest trying it with yogurt, and skipping the milk and butter all together if you prefer a stronger flavor. I like strong cheeses and sharp cheddar, I also appreciate a thick and creamy Mac & Cheese. 1/4 a cup of plain yogurt (or to taste!) is worth a try.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best, April 27, 2010

Annie's is simply the best. I don't know what some of these other reviewers are talking about. It does take a while to get kids used to the taste of real food versus whatever is in Kraft. But - it's simply a great product. I cook it two boxes at a time so we'll have leftovers. I recommend being sure to add butter. And plain yogurt is a great substitute for the milk (as someone else suggested) I'll never go back to Kraft!

Was very disappointed, there was no real cheese flavor. Had to add our own extra sharp cheddar to give it pop. Also, cheese sauce didn't cover the noodles well.

Good for you and the kids beg for more? That's because of the great taste. This mac & cheese is a keeper- the shells make them even more appealing to the little ones!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not near as good as Annie's creamy delux mac & cheese, January 17, 2009

This the only product of Annie's that I am disappointed in. The cheese powder is not nearly as flavorful as Annie's creamy delux mac and cheese with the foil packet of cheese sauce (which my family and I all love and will be the only kind I buy from now on).

2.0 out of 5 stars Tastes Like the No-Name Store Brand, October 26, 2008

It tastes absolutely the same as any other store mac-and-cheese. The "totally natural" cheese is a fine-as-talcum-powder substance in a foil packet. Save some money and buy the store brand for 69 cents on sale at Ralph's Market.
