4.0 out of 5 stars YUMMY but Expensive!
OK, I have to admit these are REALLY yummy, and they don't have anything really yucky in them. As a vegetarian family finding fruit snacks without gelatin (bovine source) is a tough job. And finding them without any HFCS, artificial flavors, and artificial colors is even harder. So, as far as taste and quality go these are great.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good taste, weird consistency
I bought these at the grocery store, excited - hoping they would be something fantastic. They have a great flavor to them but the get really soft and sticky and fall apart in your mouth...just a really weird consistency, never had a candy like that before.
I can see where some people would like them, but my boyfriend and I didn't care for them too much. We ate the...

4.0 out of 5 stars YUMMY but Expensive!, May 2, 2009
This review is from: Annie's Homegrown Tropical Treat Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks, 4.0 Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4) (Grocery)

However, they're REALLY EXPENSIVE! My 4 year old could easily eat a box a day if I'd let him, and so could I truth be told. At over $4 a box, that's pretty pricey for a quick snack that doesn't offer up any real nutrition. I know quality ingredients cost more, but jeez. Maybe if they offered a bulk pack or something, reducing the price AND the packaging, it would bring down the cost a bit.

This snack was an accidental find for us. Now both my husband and I are as addicted to it as my three year old daughter is. Most kids love gummy bears but they are filled with sugar, have no vitamins in them, and are made with gelatin, a no-no for a vegetarian. This snack is a great substitute: low sugar, loaded with vitamin C (good for immunity), and no gelatin. And it tastes good! When you want something different but you don't know exactly what you want, instead of going for something fatty, go for this snack and you (and your kids) will feel satisfied. We like the "tropical treat" flavor better than the red one (forgot what that flavor was called). I highly recommend this product to families with kids.

My two toddler boys LOVE all the Annie's Bunnies (Friends, individuals, cheddar, and gummies). They are super yummy and are a smart snack choice as they are all-natural. I LOVE Amazon, but can buy Annies' cheaper in the large box at Target, and in individual bags at Costco.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best organic snax!, February 10, 2010

Organic, made with fruit juice,no preservatives, no high-fructose corn syrup, etc. And they taste better than any other gummy candy I've tried. What more could you ask for? Well, I do wish they were less expensive, but the adage "you get what you pay for" certainly applies here, and purchasing from amazon was less expensive than the supermarket. Highly recommended. I can't say enough good things about these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best fruit snacks we've found!, April 10, 2011
This review is from: Annie's Homegrown Tropical Treat Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks, 4.0 Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4) (Grocery)
The flavors of these little bunny-shaped fruit snacks are quite strong, yet natural tasting. The "tropical treat" packs include a mixture of orange, mango-peach, and tropical punch. They are all good, but the mango-peach is AMAZING!

Annie's has even managed to pull off kid-pleasing, bright colors - including true red - without using artificial colors. These little gems get their color from natural sources, like carrot juice concentrate, though your children will never know the difference. The texture is a little different (softer) than other fruit snacks or gummies, but I have never known a kid or adult who didn't like them.

A few more thoughts about the cost and packaging... the packets are small, but they each contain at least 25 fruit snacks - more than twice as many as in the little packets of "junky" ones at the grocery store. They still come out at well under $1 per pack, with each pack providing a full day's supply of vitamin C. I'd pay more than that for a quick snack from a vending machine or convenience store, and not feel nearly as satisifed (or as healthy!) after.

We've solved the eat-the-whole-box temptation by making these "take along" snacks only. That's what individually packaged snacks are for at our house, and these are reserved for lunch boxes, car trips, etc. That way, the option to eat packet after packet just isn't there.

I must say that I, for one, am thrilled that Annie's has put in the time and effort to make a healthy snack in cute, colorful, appealing individual wrappers. While I know it is wasteful and drives up the overall cost of the product, the real truth is that is it hard to send a kid off to school with plain, boring organic food while all of their friends are packing the latest and greatest in kiddie fad food, complete with shiny wrappers, cartoon character packaging, and gimmicks galore. Our kids reach a point where they are embarrassed by their own "uncool" snacks (box of raisins? yawn!) or so tempted by the junk that they become fixated on getting their hands on it somehow.

Products like these fruit snacks let kids pack a snack with some "bells and whistles", clever packaging, etc. They can be sent as soccer practice snacks, class party offerings, birthday party treats, etc., and are universally well-received. While we don't rely on them heavily at our house - fruits, veggies, and homemade snacks will always have a place here - it is good to have them available when needed!

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THESE!!, June 24, 2011

I absolutely love these, healthy and yummy with an awesome texture. Texture is really important to me when it comes to fruit snacks, and these have an awesome soft texture. They aren't hard and you don't have to sit there chewing forever; but if you want you can suck not them and they won't just disintegrate or stick to the roof of you mouth. They are perfect! I recommend trying the berry patch flavor as well!!

Another great fruit snack to try if you like this texture is Ocean Spray brand. They are not organic, but they are less than half the price of these.

My 2-year-old just loves this fruit snack. I paid $14.07 (as of 11/07/2010) for pack of 4 using the subscription option. If I buy it at a local co-op, one box costs $4.99. Great deal!

5.0 out of 5 stars Yummy Gummy... not safe for dental work, March 6, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Annie's Homegrown Tropical Treat Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks, 4.0 Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4) (Grocery)
Love these little guilt free candies. I move them around so as to not let the little bits get caught up in my dental crowns and minor gaps. So, these are the perfect answer for grandmother wanting to have something in their pocket book for the 4 to 8 year old grandchildren they have around. And, when grandmother needs a little satisfying of the sweet tooth with a Vitamin C boost why they are the perfect choice.

Thank you, Annie's, for another great food item! And, Amazon, thank you, too, for providing the opportunity to try these out as I've never seen them in the store. They could be there, just not on my route through the stores. Happy eating!

4.0 out of 5 stars I call them gummy bunnies, February 6, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Annie's Homegrown Tropical Treat Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks, 4.0 Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4) (Grocery)
When my kids found the box of these Annie's snacks, my 10 year old jumped up and down like a bunny and screamed out loud with such a joy. I'm like.. what the heck.

Inside the box were these tiny 0.8oz pouches containing about a dozen "gummy bunnies" Their texture is like gummy bears, except much softer. The sweetness is just right with a little tang and sourness.

Per pouch - 1 serving: 70 calories, 45mg sodium (2%), 18g carbs/10g sugars (6%), and 100% vitamin C. The only unnatural ingredient is the "Natural Flavors", which is will cost a star.

Fun snack and recommended.

I buy these all of the time as an alternative to the supermarket fruit snacks. They are not full of yucky fillers... I even enjoy a little bunny snack treat occasionally :)
