This review is from: Annie's Point - Hallmark Channel Original Movie (DVD)
I have searched for the movie Annie's Point starring Betty White, Richard Thomas and Amy Davidson for over a year. I recorded it before trying to make a purchase. There is no suggested dialogue, language, violence or sex. It is funny and also serious. It will be aired January 15, 2008 on Hallmark Channel at 9:00 pm. If enough people will write reviews maybe the studio that made this film will make it available on DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazon- listen to your customers....., November 9, 2008
This review is from: Annie's Point - Hallmark Channel Original Movie (DVD)
I saw this movie on the Hallmark Channel and was so impressed with the message that it conveyed. Of course Betty White was terrific as a feisty and determined elderly woman on an expedition to Annie's Point. She wanted to make sure that the promise she made to her deceased husband was fulfilled. Along the way she changed the lives of her too businesslike son and her granddaughter who lacked confidence in her musical abilities. "Annie" also positively influenced so many others she met on her journey of love, caring and old fashioned believing in yourself. Why can't a movie such as this be available to the general public? Too nice and feel good? I know- violence and profanity rule.. Shame on you Hallmark- if Sarah Plain and Tall is offered to purchase why not this terrific little movie that someone can cuddle up to when their day was a little hectic or depressing... Your customers are speaking. Are you listening??

5.0 out of 5 stars Annie's Point-where is the DVD, June 14, 2009
This review is from: Annie's Point - Hallmark Channel Original Movie (DVD)
I just watched this movie for the first time today and was brought to tears several times. The message here for me was how difficult it was for my mother to lose her husband (my father) after 51 years of marriage. I was there for her for all things and am so glad that I was. I also know that I must petition the court to remove both of my parents ashes and distribute them in their favorite place. I beg Hallmark to please release this movie on DVD for purchase as soon as possible. I am shocked that this wonderful movie is not available.

5.0 out of 5 stars Annie's Point, March 23, 2010

This review is from: Annie's Point - Hallmark Channel Original Movie (DVD)
I have been searching for this movie without success for a few years. The story is heartwarming, funny, serious, and enjoyable. This movie has something for everyone to relate to and I think that's what makes it such a good film. It aired twice on Hallmark last Sunday, 21 March 2010. The first time it aired at 9:00am and again at 3:00pm. I didn't know it was airing until I just happened to turn to Hallmark and caught the last few minutes of the 9:00am movie. Thank goodness it aired again! Hopefully they will put it on sale to the public again soon.
Betty White stars as Annie, a widow who made a promise to her dying husband that she would spread his ashes at Annie's Point on their 50th anniversary. Annie's Point is a scenic place that the couple visited and fell in love with, so much so that Annie's husband named it after her. Annie is determined to get to the Point with or without the help of her son Richard, played by Richard Thomas whose main concern is taking care of the family business since his father died. He plays a loving and caring son and father who is a widower unable to let his wife go. Business takes up most of his time though he tries his best to make time for his Mom, see to her needs, and provide a college education for his daughter who is away at school. Amy Davidson, who was Keri on "8 Simple Rules" plays Richard Thomas' daughter Ella. She is very unhappy at school and wants to pursue a music career. She tells her Dad that she wants to leave school but he wants her to get her degree. Because he is worried about his Mom's safety as she lives alone in the big family home, Annie's son decides it is best if she were to go live in a retirement community. Because he can't get away from work, Richard sends Ella with Annie to "see the place" before she moves in. While headed to the retirement community Annie gets the idea to head to Annie's Point instead. That's when Annie and Ella's adventure begins. While on the road, the two reconnect with family, touch the lives of strangers, and gain a better understanding of each other, including Richard who wasn't on the road with them but was in constant contact via cellphone. This is one of the best stories ever! To date, I have not seen a Larry Levinson production that I didn't absolutely love. This movie is at the top of my list of favorites!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Hallmark original movie masterpiece, September 8, 2011

This review is from: Annie's Point - Hallmark Channel Original Movie (DVD)
In this family-oriented film, a grandmother named Annie (Betty White) takes her granddaughter Ella,(Amy Davidson) on a road trip to Annie's Point, a scenic place that had special meaning for Annie and her late husband. Against the wishes of her son, (Richard Thomas) Annie takes Teenage Ella, along with an urn containing the cremated remains of her late husband, on a cross-country trek to the place she hadn't seen in half a lifetime. Stops along the way provide lots of adventure, lighthearted moments, and a visit to Annie's brother, whom she hadn't seen in a long time because of a misunderstanding. Both Annie and Ella come to realize dreams come true in the course of the road trip. I recommend this movie to anyone looking for something to watch as a family. Touching moments, humor, "slice of life" story elements. I'm glad I have this movie in my video library. You will too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Annie's Point, August 1, 2010
This review is from: Annie's Point - Hallmark Channel Original Movie (DVD)
This is one of my favorite movies. I recorded it off the Hallmark channel a couple years ago and have shared this delightful movie with dozens of my friends. With all of the wonderful hype surrounding Betty White these days, I am surprised that this movie has not been re-released on DVD. With a little bit of advertising, I bet they'd recoup their money. I think this is one of Ms. White's best performamces!!!
