Better Than The Movie,
By Christine Todd (Lincoln, IL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Anniversary Party (Audio CD)
I love movies, but this one only slightly. What really caught my attention was the soundtrack and I have to say this CD was a great purchase. As with the best soundtrack CD's, it's not all of one thing - it's a great mix of all sorts of odds and ends. My personal favorites are the two Michael Penn instrumental bits from the score of the movie (sort of rave-y blissed out tracks) and the two Eels tracks. Ah, the Eels. After hearing them on this soundtrack I marched right out and bought every album they've made. And that's what a Soundtrack CD should do: give great ambiance and inspire you to explore new stuff. Thumbs up!

Hail to Michael Penn!,

The party scene music when they are coming on to the ecstacy is track 13 "Nothing Like Us" by Michael Penn. It is just as beautiful on the CD as it is in the movie. It is the freshest sound in music I have heard in a long time. Mr. Penn has managed to create a peice of music that is captivating and haunting, and leaves you wanting more.......

Lulu plus some other stuff,
This review is from: Anniversary Party (Audio CD)
I bought this cd exclusively to get the Lulu song "Stealing My Love From Me". It's less than 2 minutes long but it was still worth it.

Almost a Total Waste of Money,
By Charles E Honig (Atlanta, GA United States) - See all my reviews

I made the mistake of buying this album because I wanted the song that they play during the scene where the characters are first starting to roll on ecstasy. That song turned out to be o.k., not as good as when it was in the movie, but most of the rest of the soundtrack was totally horrible. I can almost promise that most people will not like most of this cd.
