5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Gift For Mammy & Pappy!
After listening to The Annoying Music Show on NPR I was excited to hear about the CD from the program. After hearing it I now have the perfect gifts for both Mother's and Father's Day! My mom will cry when she hears the Japanese Bluegrass tribute to Madonna, and my Dad will weep too upon hearing Larry Hagman sing about Alamo Day. This is sweet revenge to loving, yet...

3.0 out of 5 stars Annoying overkill
There is a good reason why radio program "The Annoying Music Show" is only given a 1-minute time slot once a week. It's funny to know that these songs exist, but when you spend over an hour listening to them (and it seems much, much longer), it goes from being funny to annoying and then to torture. It's as if Jim Nader felt compelled to cram as much annoying...

This is sweet revenge to loving, yet annoying parents --who asked me one too many times to TURN THAT MUSIC DOWN!!!!! Now I can shout the same thing at them!

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect gift for kids 9 to 90, January 1, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Annoying Music Show's The Annoying Music Show Holiday CD (Audio CD)
Mr. Nayder, if that is his real name, has really outdone himself with this collection of truly bizarre yet earnest musical efforts centered loosely on the theme of the holidays. It is the fact that these "artists" did not set out to make comedy records that makes the cuts so priceless, so funny, so perfect. If you want a gift that every member of the family will cherish for a lifetime, that will become an heirloom, that will take the place of the family Bible on that little table in the living room, that will become the centerpiece of a small shrine in your house, give the gift of annoyance. Tiny Tim singing "O Holy Night" will bring tears to your eyes.

5.0 out of 5 stars This thing is awesome!, December 28, 2000

Got the Annoying Music Holiday CD this week, and I'll never be the same. The annoying tunes just keep coming and coming like an earthquake at Tiffany's. The great thing is it's more than a Christmas & Hanukkah album, it's got music for holidays all year round, so I'm going to surprise a few of my friends in the coming months. I also discovered it clears my apartment when I want people to leave. It is really the most I've laughed in years!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Stocking & Ear Stuffer!, November 28, 2000

I was one of the first to receive The Annoying Music Show Holiday CD, and it is incredible, annoying, funny, and frightening all at the same time. Not only some of the funniest Christmas and Hanukkah songs ever mis-recorded, but Holiday songs that only the misguided Mr. Jim Nayder from NPR would find. I haven't laughed so hard since Pia Zadora announced her world tour. Get this before they are sold out, or banned by those in power with good taste.

I was delighted and most surprised to find this cd so annoying that it will annoy my friends and family year round, not just during this annoying holiday season. This will make a perfect gift for my husband on Valentine's Day and my mom, on Mother's Day. Now that I think of it, maybe my boss will get one for Memorial Day.

I'm not one to easily get into the Holiday spirit but I found listening to the Annoying Music Show Holiday CD really did the trick for me this year and kept me laughing while I wrapped my gifts. We played it while we decorated our artificial Christmas tree (honestly!). [...] I also have become a big fan of the rubber band Christmas music track! It doesn't get any better than that. I just ordered this CD for both my kids (and I wonder why they never come to see me?).

I can't believe these people actually think that they can sing. I'm embarrassed to listen to this CD - over & over again. Makes a great stocking stuffer from the Secret Santa at the office Christmas party.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS CD IS SPIRITUALLY BEAUTIFUL IN ITS HORRIFYINGNESSES!, May 22, 2004

To The Person Reading This Review:

I love music.

In my lifetime I have literally listened to more than 66,000 hours of records, CDs, 8-Tracks, mp3's and live venues. Some music of course--better than others--and a very few albums that I treasure and wish to have buried along side me. "The Annoying Music Show Holiday CD!" is such a CD. All of us have a moment of clarity in our lives, a millie-second of bright light & universal understanding of human & animals alike. My moment came during track #17, with the beautifully voiced child attempting to sing "Where Would We Be Without String?"

Such a simple yet profound title & song!

It gave me pause. Pause to ponder and pause to find my most recent medications.

Who is this Jim Nayder that finds such unique music and archives it for all ages & germinations to experience? Is he man, woman, beast, anti-Christ, Glenda-The Good Witch or perhaps a Donald Rumsfeld, taking full responsibility and yet suffering no consequences?

Or is Jim Nayder a simple human like all of us, yet able to distinguish that which is pure music solace, much like a Bat's inner radar could duck it under a boomerang?

Since purchasing this annoying CD, I have been happier, kinder
to strangers & loved ones and able to cry violently at the drop
of a safety pin. No other musical vehicle has affected me or even effected me, to this level of emotion.

Had I not listened to this CD, my life would have been much less a life, more perhaps a walk in the Black Forest at night during a lunar eclipse.

Now, as tears fill my eyes, I urge you in the strongest of terms,to get this CD, and LISTEN to its mysterious musical
lessons ASAP! Your so-called life will immediately be transformed into a light so bright, even God Almighty will need
sunglasses.

4.0 out of 5 stars God in his infinite wisdom, put Jim Nayder on this Earth, December 5, 2003

Wow, this CD has almost left me speechless. Who knew there was so much annoying music in the world? Well, Jim Nayder did, God bless him. This is funny stuff. The "highlights" have to be the Christmas songs by someone called John 'Bowtie' Barstow. The guy can't sing on key or follow the melody. Did he actually record an entire Christmas album? The mind boggles at the thought. Anyway, if you like annoying music, you should get this CD.

I cannot explain to anyone why this is good! Can you explain why something tastes amazing? You either get this or you don't. But in the words of Jim Nayder, "sweet lord," this is fantastic. [...] I know almost nothing about music, but listen to "Silent Night" and "Do You See What I See" and you will be astounded by the assonance, atonality, and arrythmia of this man. Truly genius. How else to describe the most unmusical individual ever recorded? That doesn't even include the amazing rubber band version of "Jingle Bells" by who else but Jeff St. Pierre and a frighteningly prophetic "In the Year 2000" by none other than Lucia Pamela who you will swear owns a time machine due to her unerringly accurate depicition of life as we know it now. And finally "One Tin Soldier" by Killdozer. I cannot believe you are still reading this and haven't ordered this disc yet!!!
