...an excellent collection. (Cadence )

...an absorbing and varied compendium of satisfyingly specialised and often exhaustive studies. (Jazz Journal International [Uk] )

..much to recommend it...All serious jazz fans will find the Annual Review of Jazz Studies books to be interesting and useful. Nothing else quite like them is available. (Iajrc Journal )

..quite the most interesting edition of the Annual Review so far published...can serve as a very useful forum. (Jazztimes )
