4.0 out of 5 stars wear and tare on old chainmail, August 2, 2011

Working at reanacting, and at local ren faire as a Knight, Chainmail is light, and will hold up to meet and greet, but stage combat, and jousting is too much for it . If it were revieted it would be Great! For price its worth it! The Red Knight!

4.0 out of 5 stars Ring chainmail mail, September 17, 2010

Looks good, but the rings started falling out of the bag on the first day. I could not locate where they came from and I wore the mail only once. It is very light and easy to wear all day. for the money you will be hard pressed to find low cost alu chainmail. Pluses - light weight, no maintnenance (oil etc), no rust, low cost, looks good. Minus - Rings fall out and bend easily, one size fits all.. I would recommend this again as the price to value was good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chain Mail Shirt Well-Made and Well-Priced, January 16, 2012

If you are interested in owning a chain mail shirt (perfect for after work, I suppose), the anodized chainmail shirt is a great choice. The workmanship is excellent, and the leather trim along the hem is attractive and functional, since it ensures the shirt will not catch on other clothing when it is put on and taken off. One size fits many, since chain mail expands and contracts to fit various sized knights. At $170 (the price I paid) the shirt is an excellent value.

One thing to note--the head covering shown in the photo is not included! Plan your purchases accordingly.

5.0 out of 5 stars chainmail, October 18, 2011

I recently bought this chainmail piece and i am very saisfied with it. It is well made and it is pretty heavy for only chainmail but when you put it on it feels weightless. Its not stab proof, trust me i tried. But if youre someone looking to buy chainmail definitely get this.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fun gift, March 6, 2010

After having lost several sons in battle with neighboring trolls, I decided to invest in some chain maille for the eldest. My line must continue! The item is exactly as described. Since it is anodized, it is slightly dull. It does not make noise while moving, bending and twisting, and is light enough to wear for hours (I can't imagine wearing a stainless steel hauberk at three times the weight of this one). The ends are capped in a pseudo-leather that appears fairly sturdy and should hold up to occasional use. Like all chain maille, it conforms to your body, and this should be able to fit anyone from a teenage boy up to a fairly large man (anything north of a 44" chest may be a little tight). It would cost you at least this much to make your own (as much as twice as much if you buy sawn rings), along with an investment of 100+ hours of weaving, so it's definitely worth the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Melts Too Easily, November 9, 2009

A local armorer traded me this fine aluminum hauberk for three oxen, a price I considered fair at the time. I believe the Amazon's price may be better, but ye will need to ask her directly, for I have not an oxen-to-dollar currency converter. The aluminum garment is indeed less burdensome than my old steel tunic, which had anyway become much worn with rust.

Not all is well with this hauberk, however. While fighting a dragon that had long terrorized local villagers, the beast attacked me with its fiery breath. The armorer had not told me how easily aluminum melts. Where my ancient steel armor would have withstood this assault, my new aluminum maille dissolved into a painfully hot mass upon mine torso. The burns greatly restricted my movements. By the time I had slain the dragon and impaled its head upon a pike, I was in great distress.

Aided by poultices, leeches, and a magical poppy seed preparation from the Druids, I have healed well, and have even purchased another aluminum hauberk. In future, however, I shall be certain to carry my new dragon-scale shield to withstand incendiary attacks.

Pros: Light weight, rustproof, identifies me as an "early adopter."

Cons: Does not withstand dragon breath.
