Everything I was looking for.
Good weight and balance. No sharp creases between blade and handle makes them a cinch to clean. Nicely defined tang prevents accidents. I'm glad I did the research because it paid off.

It broke!!
I loved these knives when I got them. They had excellent balance and felt great. They looked really cool, and I was very happy, until..... Less than a month after owning them, I was using the 7-inch to slice an apple. I wasn't doing anything crazy with it, nor had I in the past. The apple was on a plastic cutting board, and as the knife went through the...

I loved these knives when I got them. They had excellent balance and felt great. They looked really cool, and I was very happy, until.....
Less than a month after owning them, I was using the 7-inch to slice an apple. I wasn't doing anything crazy with it, nor had I in the past. The apple was on a plastic cutting board, and as the knife went through the apple, the blade shattered! I was shocked, because I hadn't put any extraordinary pressure on the knife. After this happened, I looked at the 5-inch, and I could see a slight crack in the same place on that knife. So it doesn't appear to be an isolated incident! I'm sad, but I guess I'll go with a more trusted brand next time.
