5.0 out of 5 stars Best pan I've purchased in a long time
I absolutely love this pan. Have had it a bit over two months. I purchased this and the Calphalon pan that's always in the Top 10 in Kitchen and Housewares and this one was far, far, far, far, far, far better than the Calphalon pan. It's a very heavy duty pan and is very durable, not to mention very easy to clean. I make a lot of tomato-based sauces and soups, and this...

2.0 out of 5 stars loved in beginning, not now!
I have about 5 pans of this model, different sizes. They work just fine in the beginning but after they are used for awhile the non stick properties just disappear and they are all just another pan. I have followed their directions, no oil, no spray, plastic spatulas. Didn't make a difference.
At least they are heavy pans but now have to use the oil a lot to...

At least they are heavy pans but now have to use the oil a lot to keep the meat or whatever from sticking to the bottom.

3.0 out of 5 stars Analon Fan - except for the 11" sauteuse, July 14, 2006
This review is from: Anolon 5-Quart 11-Inch Sauteuse with Glass Lid (Kitchen)
My wife And I have used analon since we were married 9 years ago - I still have the original set - esp the work horse 2 and 3 qt pots. But we have gone thru three 11" raised side skillets / sauteuses ( all add ons). This pan is great for everything, everyday - but after a year the middle starts to get sticky - no peal of the teflon like the cheap sets, but eventually things stick too much, despite lubrication. We have tried to follow all the rules, but to no avail.

For $19, it may still be worth it, but expect it to wear out. I also wonder if it has to do with these "great deal" amazon ones (100 down to 19) as 2 of the ones that died for us were bought cheap thru amazon ???????

5.0 out of 5 stars Best pan I've purchased in a long time, June 8, 2006
This review is from: Anolon 5-Quart 11-Inch Sauteuse with Glass Lid (Kitchen)
I absolutely love this pan. Have had it a bit over two months. I purchased this and the Calphalon pan that's always in the Top 10 in Kitchen and Housewares and this one was far, far, far, far, far, far better than the Calphalon pan. It's a very heavy duty pan and is very durable, not to mention very easy to clean. I make a lot of tomato-based sauces and soups, and this is the perfect size for my family. I've never had anything stick to it (I use it every day, sometimes twice). I cooked a chicken dish in it that normally sticks and it cooked perfectly in this one. No sticking, no overcooked pieces anywhere. I was impressed. (I first cooked this dish in the Calphalon pan I mentioned before and it absolutely ruined it.)

The glass lid is, well, a glass lid. Fits like it's supposed to. I can see through it. Can't complain with that.

I'll admit that when it arrived, it wasn't what I expected, but boy am I glad I purchased it. This pan is worth every penny.

You should know this, this pan is marked with "our gift to you for purchasing $200 worth of anolon etc" you can peel the sticker off the front of the box, BUT - there is a tag attached to one of the handles that says the same thing! Keep this in mind if purchasing for a gift. It seems nice and heavy, I assume if taken care of it will last nicely. For the price, it doesn't really matter if it only lasts a few years. ($19.99)

5.0 out of 5 stars It wasn't what I expected - it was better!, April 27, 2006

I bought this last fall when I accidently burned one of my pots on the stove. This was much wider and shorter than I expected it to be, which I thought would be a problem at first. But it has worked beautifully on the gas stove, and in the oven. I use this almost every day. It is perfect for cooking pasta because it all fits in at once without having to break spaghetti or wait for one end to soften. I've considered dumping the rest of my pots and pans, because this is usually the only one I use now, except for those occasions when I prepare a variety of items on the stove. This cooks evenly, and washes easily, even if it is a little heavy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Price For a Great Pan, April 21, 2006

This review is from: Anolon 5-Quart 11-Inch Sauteuse with Glass Lid (Kitchen)
I purchased this pan a few months ago when the price dropped below $20. I have used it extensively on the stovetop and in the oven. The results have been great. For roasts the straight from stove to oven convenience cant be beat. Everything cooks evenly and i have had no sticking. This is now my pan of choice when i make Curries, Chili, Bolognese and soups. Cleanup is a dream. I think that about covers it.

This is a good investment, especially when the price drops below $30 !

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, October 14, 2009

I bought this pan when I bought the set, it is not Analon Advanced, I noticed that it didn't have the Advanced with the name, but didn't really pay attention. The handles get extremely hot, and it is not as heavy as the Advanced pots. I should have read the reviews on this pan before I bought it. so if you own the Analon Advanced cookware, and are thinking of getting this pan, it is not the same quality, beware!

This pan is an excellent size for large meals. Very convenient to use with the helper handles and nonstick interior. Cooks evenly and fast.
Two negatives---1. NOT dishwasher safe. This is mentioned several times in the warranty information. And 2. Moisture collects inside the lid during cooking and drips down the sides and onto the stovetop--- unless great care is taken to watch and lift the lid often. A messy, annoying problem which could be solved with a venthole in the lid.

I really thought that I would never use this item. "A shallow pot - what in the world would I ever use this for?" Turns out, it is great for just about anything. The wide shallow bottom helps cook a great deal of food quickly for a "starving" teenagers - "Mom!, I'm hungry NOW!"

Anolon is great. Heats up quickly, cooks evenly, and clean up is a swipe of a sponge. FYI - Glass lid is a great idea, but in practice it fogs up - like all glass between two different temperatures.

This is my first experience with Analon and I can not complain one bit! I have had this for about 3 months now and love cooking even more!! My sauces cook faster and more even, the water boils almost instantaniously and the non stick coating is wonderful. The pot is extremely easy to clean and maintain. This really is a steal for the price you are getting it for .. you will not be disappointed!!
