The anolon 3.5inch santoku is the smallest I've seen. Full forged with bolster, a rare find in such a small santoku. German steel is ice-hardened and glass finished. Glass finish resists rust and stains better than others. The bird's beak pearer is a bonus! Both have a special protective holster. I'd been looking for it since I'd seen it in a store, but finally found it at Amazon!

Picked up several knives from this collection last weekend from open stock on sale at Macy's. Stepped up from an older set of Hienkels "Eversharp" with some Chicago Cutlery added in. Not great at anything but also not terrible at much, worked OK for many years.

All I can say is wow! I heard it said many times that for the home cook the most important tools are the cutlery but I never emagined it could make this sort of difference. Just the right amount of heft but very easy to weild and manipulate.

The glass ground edge is very sharp and the protective sheaths are a very nice touch. For under $100 I got this set, 8" Chefs, 7" Santoku, 8" Kantyo, 5" Santoku all with the sheaths. I will be getting or making a block soon for them all.

I will need the sharpening stone soon as well as some steak knives.

Very nice set out of the box, only time will tell if they hold up.

I enjoy cooking quite a bit and use the Anolon Advanced Santoku knives in the 5-inch and 7-inch length extensively. My sweetie has smaller hands, though, and was having trouble wielding the larger knives and was delighted when I came across this 3.5-inch Anolon Advanced Santoku Knife while searching for something else. This knife set didn't come up when I searched for Anolon Advanced Santoku Knives. We enjoy using non-serrated knives and have found these knives to be VERY sharp upon arrival, hold their edge very well, well-balanced, and have a good, sturdy heft to them. We have the Anolon Advanced Santoku Knives, Steak Knives, the Paring Knife that came with this set, and the serrated Bread Knife. All are outstanding quality and their low price for such quality is an added bonus.

The tiny santoku is perfect for slicing garlic, small tomatoes, and other small things. Feels great in the hand. Take good care of it - you'll use it a lot!
