Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

This 3-1/2-quart saucepan from Anolon offers integrated straining features that set it apart from comparable products by enabling it to effortlessly drain water and other liquids. The crack-resistant glass lid fits snuggly on the pan's body and offers small holes to safely strain petite foods and larger holes for bigger items. It also easily adjusts to trap in steam and prevent moisture from escaping. The pan itself features an integrated pouring spout and heavy-gauge aluminum construction for even heating. The stainless-steel handle provides a strong hold while its silicone rubber coating prevents unwanted slipping. Low-fat cooking, easy food release, and simplified clean-up all result from the double-coated nonstick interior surface. Oven-safe up to 400 degrees F, this mid-sized pan holds 3-1/2 quarts and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Hand washing is recommended as is the use of rubber, plastic, or wooden utensils.

Product Description

A clever design for straining, pouring or covered cooking. The lid, made of see-through, break resistant glass, has a deep rim with optional straining holes. To strain, line the holes up with the pan's pour spouts and strain with ease. For covered cooking, rotate the lid to close the holes and moisture will stay inside the pan. To pour, remove the lid and use the pour spouts that are built into the pan body. Regardless of these convenient features, you've got a pan made of even heating hard anodized for great cooking performance plus a rugged nonstick surface inside and out for stress-free cleaning.

4.0 out of 5 stars Could use a 'helper' handle..., April 16, 2005
This review is from: Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 3.5-Quart Covered Straining Saucepan with Spouts (Kitchen)
This heavy weight (tall) pot along with cooking contents is estimated to weigh over 10 lbs. A helper handle to assist with straining would certainly be a nice addition. Other than that, Anolon 'Advanced' is one of the best. There are pouring spouts on each side. This makes it the only pot I have ever seen that is 'southpaw' friendly. This beauty heats evenly and is a snap to clean.

12/5/05 Update: I recently used this pot to boil some Russets for mashed potatos. When I went to strain them, the weight of 2 qts. of water (4 lbs.), plus 1 lb. of Russets, plus the 3 1/2 lb. pot, plus 'X' pounds of pressure on the lid to keep the contents from spilling out was just too overwhelming for 1 elderly male's hand/arm. I would rerate this to 3-Stars if the primary user will be elderly (or a woman who is not into body building). For the more youthful of you, the lack of a helper handle will not seem to be as great an issue and the 4-Star rating would be appropriate.

12/22 Update: I finally 'caved' and am giving this to my son (who won the SE benchpress championship some years ago).

5.0 out of 5 stars A great pasta pot, May 12, 2007
This review is from: Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 3.5-Quart Covered Straining Saucepan with Spouts (Kitchen)
I wasn't sure I'd like this pot all that much, but now I don't think I can live without it. Being deep, it's perfect for boiling pasta for two, and by using the lid to drain, you can add all the rest of the ingredients and toss it right in the pot, then serve. Yet when the lid is set not to drain, it is heavy and tight enough you can use it to steam cook rice as well. The silicone handles on the pot and lid are a very nice touch.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good size and easy to clean, July 8, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 3.5-Quart Covered Straining Saucepan with Spouts (Kitchen)
I would have given this 5 stars if it were a bit lighter in weight.

The 1st time I used this pot, I forgot the time and I ended up

with burnt sauce stuck to the pan.

Normally I would have ruined a pot or would have been left with black burnt pan markings after cleaning.

This pot was easy/fast to clean and looked brand new afterwards.

Very pleased with the pot and the discounted price.
