My best looking and so far, best cutting knife set I have used. I am the cook, so get the most use of them. Wife loves too.

You can't beat the price for what you get. The assortment of knives is great and I have yet to find myself looking for a knife I need that was not included. My main complaint is the block. It is listed as bamboo in the description, but it is actually something else and is not constructed very well. It does the job, but could be much better.

This is a great knife set. I had a set of old, cheap knives that I abused for several years before receiving the Anolon carving set for Christmas. The high quality of the set (8" slicing knife and a carving fork) convinced me to buy the entire set. The knives are very sharp and comfortable to use, as well as being aesthetically pleasing. The only criticism I would have is the construction of the knife block, which isn't the best but does the job.

When we renovated our kitchen recently, we put in new maple cabinets, granite "Red Dragon" countertops, and stainless steel appliances. So it seemed like the perfect time to replace the old mismatched bundle of odd kitchen knives and steak knives with a cohesive set that would, (a) be more appropriate for the cooking that we hoped to do and, (b) look great on the new countertop. The Anolon Brunello Collection here filled that bill perfectly, and we couldn't be happier.

Now, we are not chefs, so I have no doubt that there are more "professional" knives out there, but this set more than satisfies for all of our current and expected cooking and carving purposes. See the Product Features section for a list of exactly what knives are included, but rest assured that the quality of the knives is exceptional. They cut perfectly, feel solid, are nicely balanced, and the wood handles just feel more "human" to us than the standard black handles found on most sets today. Note, too, that the wood handles have a protective coating to keep them from absorbing oils or splintering.

A little bonus with this set, as compared to others I've seen, is that each knife actually has its purpose or type subtly imprinted on the blade. That is, the Santoku knife literally says "Santoku" on the blade, the Chef knife says "Chef," the boning knife says "Boning" and so forth. This may sound silly, but if you watch cooking shows or use cookbooks in which the chef says to use this or that type of knife to do something, it's good information to have. Especially if you've never been much of a cook before, like me. The block also has a slot marked for each type of knife.

From a room design standpoint, if you look at the photo I contributed above, you'll see that those wood handles also work nicely in accenting the wood cabinets, as well as the browns, oranges, and reds in our countertop. In addition, the stainless steel tip at the base of each wood handle also highlights the stainless appliances and the brushed nickel door handles on the cabinets.

On a usage note, we quickly found that buying a knife set that includes 6 steak knives was also a smart choice. To save a few bucks, we almost bought a set that only had the kitchen knives, but we quickly found that the minimal additional cost has had great rewards. Specifically, these steak knives look and perform SO much better than what we had before, and keeping them in the block not only un-clutters another drawer, it also keeps them in better condition between uses.

All in all, I highly recommend the Brunello Collection. If you're looking for cutlery that performs with grace and style, you won't be disappointed.

My wife is really pleased with this set. It has a fine edge and terrific balance. It also includes a robust, easily cleaned kitchen scisssor, and a diamond hone. What more could one ask?

I have owned these knives for five years or so and have nothing but praise for the quality and beauty of these knives. These are quality knives and perform wonderfully. They hold an edge and remain sharp for daily use with regular use of the steel. I have bought all the knives in the set and unfortunately the only one I am missing is the Cleaver. Don't know why Anolon stopped making these. THEY ARE GREAT!!!! I also own Anolon pans which have served me well for over 10 years now. I even have some of the knives with the rubber handles which exhibit the same quality as the Brunello's. Anaolon, bring them back!!!!. Theses are great knives (Is this record stuck?). Anolon gave up on a great product before it had the chance to make its mark in the cutlery world. If you know where to get a Brunello Cleaver let me know. I need the CLEAVER to finish out a set of knives that will last me a life time of cutting and beauty on my counter. These are great knives........These are Great knives!! Did I mention these are Great Knives.

The Anolon Brunello knives are really nice. Not only do they cut well, they look great on the counter. Most knife sets come with black handles and I did not want that look. These knives are beautiful and cut through most everything with ease. I am thrilled with my purchase and I felt that the price of these knives were comparable to other name brands. We were also impressed because the knives are made in Germany of forged steel, all one piece. What a great Christmas gift with all the holiday cooking we did!!

The knives in this set are great. However, they arrived with the finish on the wood all over the knives, and several of the handles aren't fit well. The block has so much glue in the slots that the steak knives won't all go into the block, and the block arrived scratched and dented all over. Is Amazon selling factory seconds??
