Good non-stick, but rivets need careful cleaning,

This set of pots is a very good value for the price. The heavy aluminum, not stainless steel (see why this is important, below), pots are clad both inside and outside with non-stick which makes them easy to clean. HAND WASHING RECOMMENDED, but having used them for over a month so far, food doesn't stick so washing is easy. But be careful, use non-scratch utensils and do NOT bang the utensils on the side of the pots to get the food off. It might hurt the non-stick.
My only two quibbles are the rivets that connect the handle to the pot make the interior not completely smooth so when you wash it, you must pay special attention to remove food that may be stuck in the interface between the pot and the rivets. And the handles are only rated to 350 degrees in the oven. An all-metal handle would have been more professional, but also costs more and would be heavier. My other quibble: The glass lids make it easy to see how your food is doing without letting out the steam. But the handle to the lid is held on with a single screw. Some of my lids spin and others don't. This might be a weakness as time goes on. These pots' bottoms are really FLAT which are excellent for my radiant heat cook top. If you boil water in one, you can see how evenly the SMALL bubbles form which means the heat is very, very even. Your food cooks evenly and FAST which are the main differences between good and not so good cookware. Oh, stainless steel is tougher than alumninum but has lower heat conductivity so the heat doesn't spread across the bottom of the pot as well as alumninum, leading to less even heating.

Great cookware, but beware of Anolon's customer service.,

I bought the cookware about six months ago. I love the cookware, easy to clean up and the pan sizes handle everything I need in my small kitchen. The only problem I had was the set came with the frying pan lid damaged. Even after repeated contact with the company with them promising my replacement lid was on its way, it has never come. I will not be buying any more of this company's products for this reason alone. What good is a great product if the company will not stand behind it?

Weight varies for this overly expensive line....,
This review is from: Anolon Classic 8-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
My collection of Anolon 'Classic' contains an egg poacher (too light with 'non-stick' egg cups that stick like mad), a 10" crepe pan (flimsy) and the 4 qt. pasta pot (excellent).
I would recommend the heavy, stainless Cuisinart 'Chef's Classic' (my favorite), the heavy Anolon 'Advanced' (another favorite) or even the Calphalon 'Commercial'. The Anolon 'Classic' is on a par with the 'Simply Calphalon', another cheap competing line where quality is all over the lot.

Great Cookware Set,

I ordered this set back in January and have been nothing but pleased with its performance. The non-stick coating is the best I've ever cooked on and I have never had one thing stick to it. I've cooked meats, cheese, dairy products, etc. and all it takes is one wipe with a soapy dishcloth and it's clean! The heating ability is also excellent. No more cooking or boiling on HIGH.The only problem I have with it is cleaning the rivets. It just takes an extra second or two to make sure there's no food left around them. Besides that, this set is perfect. For the price, you will not be able to find a more durable or more attractive set. I would recommend it to anyone!

The BEST Cookware EVER!,

I purchased this set a few years ago and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I used to avoid cooking anything that required more than heating in the oven because I hated cleaning pans. These pans are so easy to clean it is amazing! I started trying out more recipes and saved a TON of money on food--these practically paid for themselves in that respect.
They do require a little more care than cheap Faberware type pans, but it is well worth it. Even though you have to hand wash them (don't put them in the dishwasher), the excellent non-stick surface just wipes clean. Right after cooking, I would rinse the pans and all of the food remanants came right off. After that, all I had to do was wipe them with a soapy cloth and PRESTO, they are clean and ready to use again. With the non-stick surface and the lower heat (these pans heat up quickly at Medium--saves energy) it also lends to much healthier eating. I was amazed at how many things I could brown without using one drop of oil. The manufacturer recommends not using a lot of oil (it can cause the pans to overheat) and you can take them fully at their recommendation...you really don't need it. I would highly recommend these pans to anyone who is willing to put forth the little care necessary to keep them in good shape.

I've used many different cookwares. I've worked in department stores and sold different cookwares. Calphalon was my favorite, but now that I have a glass top stove. Cooking has changed for me. And Analon is the best for glass top stoves. You have to know your product & your stove. I've found what works best for me & I tell everyone with a glass top stove to purchase Analon, you won't regret it. Most important heat your product first on low heat. And take care of your product, it will serve you well.

Healthy, Hassle-Free Cooking and Cleanup,

I love this set! I purchased the new Pampered Chef Professional Cookware Family Skillet and Lid as a hostess bonus this past summer, and liked it so much that I wanted to replace my 20 year old starter cookware set (stainless steel, copper-clad) with something comparable. This set has the same features as the Pampered Chef Professional Cookware line - hard-anodized aluminum with DuPont Autograph nonstick coating, glass lids and oven safe to 350 degrees. It also offers more versatility in terms of piece selection. The nonstick coating is great if you're health-conscious and want to use less fat, it requires less heat, and it cleans up in a snap. I don't have a dishwasher, so I really appreciate this feature. (Don't wash this cookware in the dishwasher!) If you cook for a larger family you may want to consider the 10 piece set, but if you're starting out and cook smaller quantities this has smaller pans and you can add a larger stockpot or skillet later. Use nonstick utensils to avoid damage to the nonstick surface. There was a small scratch on the 8-inch skillet when I received the set, so I mailed it back to the Meyer Corporation and they sent me a new skillet very quickly, no questions asked. I have since ordered the 4-quart pasta pot and 10-quart stockpot. I hadn't thought much about cookware until I started using this line, and now I wouldn't trade it for anything! (If you're upgrading, don't throw your old cookware out, give it to your local refugee resettlement agency or charity so someone else can enjoy it!)

Excellent set of pots and pans,

The purchase of this Anolon set was to compliment a skillet which I had purchased from open stock a few years ago. The skillet is over four years old and has seen a lot of use and other than a few smudge marks from plastic utensils, the skillet looks and cooks as it did the day I purchased it. These pots and pans are amazing. The heavy surfaces heat evenly and food just wipes off when you hand clean the pans. I think that the Anolon set is quite a good value when compared to other professional sets such as Calphalon where you pay more for the popular name than the product. The only downside to the pans are the bolt which attach the handles to the pans. The bolt heads protrude into the cooking surface and although the edges are flush with the surface, they can collect food residue especially if you cook eggs or something like that in one of the skillets. However, this issue is small compared to the good qualities of the pots and pans. I highly recommend the Anolon cookware.

We recently decided to resupply our kitchen and this set was a perfect starting point, providing the basic essentials and we then purchased other individual pieces to round it out. Everything in the set is very nice quality, excellent heat distribution and the non-stick is verk slick. They are nice and thick without being too heavy, have good solid bases and the glass lids, which we both prefer.

I did a lot of comparisons and this Analon set came out to be the best value. You can find cheaper products from companies like Farberware, but those products will start to wear out over time. The Analon is much more durable and the quality is top notch. My shipment came with a dented lid, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and write it off as a rare mishap. Otherwise, I love this set. |
