Cool band covering beatles tunes,

At a recent gig I was on, a jazz aficionado friend of mine told me about a band called Beatlejazz, and directed me to a site where I could find out more information. What a treat I was in for. As a professional musician and Beatles fan, I was delighted to hear the sound clips and then buy the new Beatlejazz album aptly named "Another Bite of The Apple." I was hooked immediately; it really taps into the essence of the Beatles adding a great jazz flavor to it. These all-star jazz greats really know how to combine the best of the Beatles and jazz on such classic tracks as "Magical Mystery Tour", "Let it Be", "Blackbird", and "I'll Follow The Sun". This album is one of the best I have heard for crossing-over two genres of musical styles and flavors. It is a must have if you are even remotely into the Beatles, and a must for jazz listeners.

Today George Harrison died, and KCSM 91.1 in the San Francisco Bay Area played this entire album at noon today. The version of Let It Be is gorgeous, numerous choruses with differing harmonies and melodic ideas. Give Me Love is also wonderful.

Much like the first CD, the interpretation is nice, but not at all exciting. Good for elevator music or the opening credits of a 70's sitcom.
