5.0 out of 5 stars "Another Jesus ?"
There are some denominations that veer off from the Truth of the Bible and this author makes known and clarifies the deceptions going on in the doctrines of one major denomination. A "must read" for true Christians and those who are looking for truth in their beliefs, that it be according to the Scriptures in the Bible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the Read!, January 2, 2010
This review is from: Another Jesus: The eucharist christ and the new evangelization (Paperback)
Having been a Catholic, I was curious to what would be presented in this book by Mr. Oakland and Tetlow. The supporting documentation presented is enough to show that the Eucharistic Christ is a position which the church accepts. They also provided the scripture verses on which the church bases their belief in the Eucharist being the actual body & blood of Christ and that the Church sees it as a requirement in salvation. In order for you to make a judgment on this the alternate position has to be explored, which is what they also provide you. The Eucharist is not the actual body & blood of Christ, but is to be used in remembrance of Our Lord's sacrifice and also not a requirement for being saved. They readily provide scripture supporting this as well. So reader, go for it. Might open your eyes about a few things which we have a tendency to over look. It is well worth the read! That's why I gave it 5 stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars Transubstantiation Is Heretical, September 30, 2009

Roger Oakland will be rewarded in his Biblical refutation of the Catholic belief in Transubstantiation in this book. Anyone who believes that taking communion is ACTUALLY eating and drinking the flesh and blood of Christ is deceived and taking the verses out of context. To think otherwise would infer that Christ never needed to die on the cross once for the sins of believers. Thus changing the work of Christ on the cross into a false works-based faith instead of believing in the substitutionary atonement of Jesus Christ alone for remission of sins.

Communion is to be done in rememberance of His sacrifice and is not to be made a common thing as the Catholic church has done by "transubstantiation" and taking it too frequently.

Acts 8:36,37: And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

5.0 out of 5 stars Timely publication for all Christians, March 27, 2011

This book is a must-read for all Christians who are concerned about the future of the church. Within this book, the author carefully and thoughtfully comments upon facts he has uncovered about the Catholic church's mission to evangelise the world (including Protestants) through use of what Protestants call Communion, and what Catholics call the eucharist, two radically different ceremonies. The book also explores the practice of worshipping Mary, as well as the elements of the eucharist. Protestants who have been pressured (often by their own leaders) to accept the eccumenical movement, which seeks to blend Catholicism and Protestantism will find this book of great assistance in standing firm in their faith.

From the Bible:

John 6, 54-59 (Jesus speaking):
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever." These things he said while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.

and...1 Corinthians 23-27 (St. Paul speaking):
For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the night he was handed over, took bread, and, after he had given thanks, broke it and said, "This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me." In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me." For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes. Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will have to answer for the body and blood of the Lord. A person should examine himself, and so eat the bread and drink the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself.

These words are strait from the Bible (Protestant or Catholic). Check it for yourselves, and do not be deceived.

1.0 out of 5 stars No Eucharistic Sacrifice, April 26, 2009

This review is from: Another Jesus: The eucharist christ and the new evangelization (Paperback)
Roger Oakland in his "Another Jesus: The eucharist christ and the new evangelization" is a blatant attempts at judging mysteries that he does not understand. The gift of the Eucharist is a mystery that is well documented in the writings of the Early Church Fathers. Roger Oakland and Jim Tetlow have made it their mission to bash and misinterpret all things Catholic. Tetlow's "Queen of All" show a lack of understanding of the person and role of the Mother of Christ, who is "she who crushes the head of Satan."

"Sola Scriptura" is a fallacy that denies the ongoing development and growth of the Body of Christ. Scripture and Tradition are both needed in discerning how the Lord is manifesting Himself in an ongoing way.

Oakland treats the Catholic belief in the Eucharist as if it were a new phenomenon. The belief that the bread and wine are truly the body blood, soul and divinity of Christ has been in existence since the beginning of Chrisianity. Read early Church history instead.
