I first heard J.P. Cormier on 'FolkAlley' audio-stream from WKSU - Kent State Ohio, I was stunned by the voice, the words, the playing of several acoustic instruments. This may be Canada's best kept secret. He is a master musician. One of the few guitarists that has drawn the awe of Leo Kottke, he also plays fiddle, mandolin, and banjo. His songs are exceptional, whether played or sung. He has a great voice and should sing more. Many of his newer CD's are mostly instrumental. Give a listen.

My husband and I went all the way from California to Nova Scotia to the Stan Fest June 2001. Before we left we purchased two J.P. Cormier's CDs and we love his music... but he's even better in person. We're going back next year.

I usually don't write these reviews - but in this case, it's justified!

I've had this CD for 2 years now and I find myself listening to it more and more. Strong, traditional voice - Songs are about love, work, the sea. Hot picker - and I mean hot!

To me, this can stand with the greats in the folk world.

My cousin from Mitchell, Ontario advised me, an Irish Texas picker to listen in on JP Cormier! What a gift! I'll be forever grateful, and just ordered another Cormier selection. JP is a great songwriter - and has a great voice delivery to add to his sensational finger-pickin string talent
