5.0 out of 5 stars Another Rosie Christmas
I think this collection of Christmas songs meets and surpasses the original cd. Rosie has a knack for knowing what's good! She chooses great celebrities to sing with. For all you Rosie Christmas cd lovers, I hope she continues to make new cd's each Holiday Season.

I rate this cd as 5 stars. Nothing but the best for the best!!

It was more enjoyable listening to the "barking dogs sing Christmas songs" then listening to her. It makes a great gag gift for your freinds though. Beware, they will want to retaliate!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a Rosie Christmas!, October 29, 2000

I REALLY enjoyed this CD. I did not buy the last, but will definitely now. I really enjoyed Donna Summer's new self- written tune, A Rosie Christmas. It's a Fab dance tune that happens to be about Christmas. I thought this song really stood out as one of the best on this CD along with the grand Linda Eder, Billy Gilman, and the hilaroius tune by the Dixie Chicks. This is truly a GREAT Christmas CD and it happens to benefit a children's charity. Get this CD NOW!! You don't know what you are missing.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT CD, Also check out Christmas Spirit by Donna Summer, December 13, 2000

As I said in my previous review, this CD is great. If you really like this, you should pick up a copy of Donna Summer's Christmas Spirit CD. It ain't no disco! It has classic Christmas tunes and some very great original tunes written by Summer herself. Check it out. It makes for a great stocking stuffer and a great complimentary purchase with Rosie's holiday CDs.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Rosie Christmas indeed!, December 12, 2000

With the variety of talent amassed for the second charity CD, Another Rosie Christmas has something for everyone. For country fans, we have a Dixie Chicks live performance, and "I'm Gonna E-mail Santa", a song originally recorded for Billy Gilman's own holiday album. For more "bubblegum pop" fans, there's Jessica Simpson and her rendition of "Rockin around the Christmas Tree". Fans of Latino Pop get Ricky Martin in an upbeat and fun song, as well as Marc Anthony. More alternative stylings include a Smash Mouth duet with Rosie, and Sugar Ray with "Silver Bells".

Something for EVERYONE.

There are only one or two songs on here that I'd prefer not to hear again -- but having 14 tracks, that means I still get a full CD's worth, and the variety alone is worth getting the album. Besides that, purchase of Rosie's Christmas albums benefit her children's charity.

From country, to rock, to jazz, to easy listening, Another Rosie Christmas will put you in the holiday mood.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy It!, January 6, 2001

If you're tired of old, tired Christmas songs, & want something new & *fun!*... this is a wonderful CD. Every single song is a hit, & for those griping about Rosie... no she can't sing, doesn't claim she can... but she knows good music, & knows how to make a delightful CD that causes the listener to feel like they are at a party with old friends. I hope this dear lady continues her efforts both to give us music like this, & her work to raise the thousands of dollars for children's charity.

You want to gripe about Rosie? Try listening to "Rosie Christmas" again, & maybe you'll get the real meaning behind the holiday!

5.0 out of 5 stars Have a Rosie Rosie Christmas!!, December 18, 2005
By
This review is from: Another Rosie Christmas (Audio CD)
This is a fun filled stellar collection of Christmas songs, old favourites, and new ones, recorded for a good cause.

Song styles range from Urban: `Spread a little love on Christmas day' by Destiny's Child, Country: the sing-a-long `Merry Christmas from the family' by Dixie Chicks and Rosie, Latin: the bouncy `Ay ay ay it's Christmas' by Ricky Martin, Rock: `Nuttin' for Christmas' by Smashmouth & Rosie, to Disco: the trancey `Rosie Christmas' by Donna Summer. A little something for everyone.

Other fantastic songs are the melancholic raspy `Winter wonderland' by Macy Gray, `Face of love' by Jewel and the touching, tender `Because it's Christmas (for all the children)' by Barry Manilow (yes) and Rosie.

A great addition to your stocking this Christmas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Something for everybody, December 13, 2000

I enjoyed last year's CD, but this one was even better! I liked the mixture of beats (e.g. hip hop, latin, disco, ballad). I agree that the Dixie Chicks tune may not be appropriate for young children, but that's what the "skip" button is for. I thought it was funny, for us adults who understand that not everyone has a ideal family Christmas. Robert Hienlein is obviously a Rosie O'Donnell hater. His statement that most of the proceeds go into Rosie's pockets shows his lack of knowledge of her generosity. If he read the CD cover, he would have seen that all proceeds go to children's charities! Yes, Rosie O'Donnell has plenty of money. But, she chooses to share a considerable portion of it with others less fortunate than herself. I admire Robert for his volunteer work, but the homeless also need monetary donations, which Rosie does give. She is also known for her willingness to personally assist (physically) in volunteer projects. You can call this self-promotion, but if it inspires others to follow her example, so be it! The songs by Jewel and Linda Eder are the most spiritual and uplifting, both musically and lyrically. And I admit, I'm a Barry Manilow lover.
