Traditional Blugrass with a Wild Band,
By A Customer
This review is from: Another Season (Audio CD)
I think this c.d. was awesome. There are a lot of the traditional songs played by some great musicians. The banjo player is out of this world, his high harmonies are outstanding and playing is great. It sounds like this band has a lot of fun. Everyone seems to work together well. I recommend this to anyone who loves traditional bluegrass music.

I saw these guys at a festival in Madrid, NY and, man, these guys smoke! The CD is pretty good...the sound quality is not great...but the fact that they performed these tunes "live" in the studio is a plus.If these guys ever come to a town near you, go see them. They are well worth the price of admission.

Another Season will last for many seasons to come!,

This review is from: Another Season (Audio CD)
This release from Thunder Mountain Bluegrass is a wonderful example of traditional Bluegrass music. Containing 14 tunes, ranging from the classics to an original by Bear Acker, this band demonstrates their virtuoistic skills both playing and singing. The recording itself is not "nashville quality" but the material on the recording makes it well worth the purchase. Will Challet sings wonderful tenor harmony and plays "Scruggs" style banjo which, combined with the powerful rhythm guitar of T. Shaun Batho, outlines Thunder Mountain's style. Bear Acker lays down a solid foundation with his bass and supports the vocal efforts of the group by singing baritone and lead vocals. Stephen Mougin, the mandolin player and lead vocalist, is a Choral Director at a regional middle-high school in Ma. and maintains the traditional style while demonstrating his vocal training.Overall this is a fabulous recording for both the veteran bluegrass lover and those curious about bluegrass because it demonstrates the best of the genre! A great CD for anyone!
