4.0 out of 5 stars Almost a perfect companion November 7, 2008
Format:Paperback
The authors wrote this book with a labor of love. Exclusive interviews with cast and crew, behind-the-scenes trivia, documented history of the series and more. Within the pages you will find:

How Don Bellisario got the idea for the show and pitched it to NBC.
What Scott bakula and Dean Stockwell thought about the show and why they consider it to be the most cherished experience of their lives.
How fans submitted half a million letters to then NCB president Warren Littlefield to put the show back on the air on Wednesday nights.
Why three episodes had advertisers pulling out and NBC ready to pull the plug.

The history section is great. An enjoyable read. Photos are not bad at all.
Only flaw I see is the episode guide isn't detailed. I can get more information (gasp!) from the internet and that I do not consider a reliable source compared to the printed page. In other words, all you get is the same information (cast list, date of leap, etc.) you can get by watching the series.

Not a bad book, and recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing September 12, 2009
Format:Paperback
I was really disappointed by the book. No colour pictures, lots and lots of language/spelling errors, half the time the sentences are, well, to say the least, difficult to read, the book is chaotic in the set-up, half the time you don't know who is quoted. It is sloppy, careless writing.

There is actually not much information in the book that I had not read before and a lot of the things in the book have been written before: read it in the official complete Quantum Leap book written in 1993 (which has btw very nice colour pictures and the advantage of a good writer and a very professional print). This book just seems to be an anthology of all things said and written before about Quantum Leap and the actors. And not a very well written anthology at that. Unless you have a need to own anything that's about Quantum Leap, I'd recommend buying the complete quantum leap book instead. I am just sorry I paid a price like this for the book.
