Greatest solution for roaches!,
This review is from: Boric Acid Insecticidal Dust
Sprinkle a little of this around your door, behind your stove and fridge, behind the couch, etc. As long as it's dry and doesn't get damp or vacuumed up, it keeps working. It's the absolute best for getting rid of the roaches. They hate the stuff, and it will kill an entire colony because they get it on them, then transfer it to the others.
My great grand parents, grandparents, parents, and I use boric acid. Anytime we start seeing roaches we dust a little around and they are gone! When I say we dust a little, I mean a little. Hold the bottle sideways, shake the powder up so it's at the nozzle but not clogging it up, and squeeze the bottle. If you got the powder in the right place, it will poof and billow out in a little cloud. That's all you need. A liter-size bottle of this stuff can last a lifetime! You'll never again call the exterminator because of roaches!

little things mean a lot,

PLEASE NOTE: READ DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING!!!
Boric acid powder works--and rather efficiently, too. My mother, my sister and I lived in a huge New York City apartment building in the late 1970s and into the 1980s; and of course from time to time we would see a roach that had crawled through the vents into our kitchen or living room. At first we didn't know what to do; and I can assure you from my own experience that the problem was less than appealing. Even today, I still have friends who live in New York City and they find this to be very useful. Finally, my mother found out about Boric Acid powder. She carefully sprinkled some on the floor just in front of the vents and even along some of the cracks in the molding between the bottom of the wall and the floor. Viola! The roaches went bye-bye. There are some precautions about using this as I'm sure you can imagine. First off, if you have small children or pets that may accidentally ingest this, keep them away from where you sprinkle the powder. Also, watch that this never gets near any food stored in your cabinets. YOU don't want to ingest it--not even the slightest bit of residue--you may well need to go to the ER to get this out of you ASAP. Another reviewer writes that you can purchase this at a lower cost elsewhere; and for a twenty ounce bottle they are probably right. In addition, some forms of boric acid may be good for getting rid of sweaty feet or even yeast infections but I don't know anyone who used boric acid for these reasons so I can't comment on this. Overall, as long as you use it right, boric acid powder works wonders if you wish to get rid of roaches, water bugs, ants or more. I recommend it as long as you use it properly.

Destroyed the carpet beetle larve in my room!,

I had a problem with carpet beetle larve, tiny motionless little grub like things that laid still in my carpeting. Luckily they don't crawl around that much but still an eyesore. So after doing some research on Google I found out this was a good solution to the buggers and it worked! After pouring a ton of Boric Acid dust all over my room the larve were all gone. I was still nervous despite the fact it's suppose to be not bad for humans (unless you directly sniff it or something). One good thing is it doesn't seem to whiten the capret like I read it could do. All-in-all it worked, can't complain. Beats paying 200 bucks for a exterminator.

The best option you've never seen advertised on TV,
By Ardbeg (Alabama) - See all my reviews

Boric Acid would be the most famous roach treatment by far if it weren't impossible to brand/patent. It is devastatingly effective and cheaper and longer-lasting than any other option. Just a few roaches that walk through boric acid will wipe out a whole population because they live long enough to return to the nest and poison their brothers, which is why it works better than sprays/traps for eliminating a colony.
If you have a severe infestation, it's a good idea to also use commercial baits on first treatment because the combined approach will reduce the population faster (Combat, Raid, etc., preferably in places you can't/don't use the powder, to cover more paths). Once the population is eliminated, a bottle of this stuff in the right places will prevent any resurgence for years to come since unlike most poisons/baits, boric acid doesn't evaporate or degrade unless it gets wet. Roaches tend to walk along walls, so that's a top location, but since we have pets it had to all be inaccessible (which also means it will last longer since it won't be mopped/swept). If possible, you'd rather have a fine dusting than a big pile, because roaches will avoid walking over hills, but don't worry too much if you aren't perfect. I put the better part of a bottle (certainly overkill) behind the fridge, washer, and dryer, behind the stove and dishwasher (removing the drawer/panel on these allowed me to get underneath without moving them), in a couple of walls (squirted through holes in outlet/switch boxes after removing covers), and under the kitchen cabinets (drilled a few inconspicuous holes high up on the kickboards). Yes, this took a couple of hours, but we went within days from severe infestation to 100% roach free for over a year. In Alabama, that's no small feat.

The best way to kill bugs!,

The applicator is easy to use. Boric acid works and works well. Although I have used aerosols in the past I prefer this product because:
I don't have to breathe it in (even if you hold your breath you will breathe in the aerosols). I take off the face plates for my light switches and electric plugs to squirt it inside the wall. These are places bugs like to travel. Needless to say this keeps the poison away from my dogs and family. The pointed applicator makes putting the poison in these areas easier. Lots of research out there showing how well boric acid works. Seems like one treatment works forever.

It's a little hard to find this stuff in Northern California, so I had to buy it online. I had used boric acid on the quick little roaches in apartment before and known that it works wonder, so it's not like a surprise. But for the slow-and-bigger ground roaches, it seem to take a little longer to work as I have to put the power everywhere to cover their areas (I guess cuz they don't move around much or as fast as the other type).
Shipping is a little high by all vendors, since amazon doesn't carry this stuff.
