I miss this AFI. I miss songs about jocks & mohawks. I miss them sampling 'Reservoir Dogs'. I miss the rebelliousness and the overall "F*** you!" attitude. I miss the days when it was hard to understand the lyrics. If you enjoy punk, and I mean REAL punk (not Good Charlotte), then you should buy this album. It's just awesome overall. Fast, crazy, chaotic. What punk should be.

American Punk, the most antisocial style of music known to man yet very good when done properly. This album does just that. Powerful chords and raw aggression give this album a wonderful feel. Unlike much punk, A.F.I actually have skill as shown in the sudden changes of rhythm of Rizzo In The Box and the bass intros of Brownie Bottom Sundae and Cereal Wars. I have always hated music which goes on too long and there is no fear of that with this album. With most songs clocking in at around 1 and 1/2 minutes you don't get bored with the same song going on for ever and ever (Guns "n" Roses I'm looking at you). Everything about this album works when put together and I thoroughly reccomend it to be the sort of music to set on a loop and annoy the neighbours with.

Magnificent, but please realize, August 30, 2003
Dont listen to anyone who tells you this is AFI's debut album, it really isnt, their debut is called DORK, and its on vinyl, and is extremely rare. Any true afi knows that the first two albums are basically compilations of what they had done so far, and were just on an easier and more widely accepted format at the time.
That aside, heres the review...
This album is pure brilliance, its not every day a 15 year old EBHC band, hXc band, whatever you wanna call it, busts onto the scene, with the melodic songs that AFI has. At such early points in their youth, these guys can rock with the best of em. You'll find these songs quite simple, but very catchy, and easy to play on the guitar yourself, Many diehard fans of afi consider these songs to be some of AFI's greatest songs.
Some of the songs do have flaws, but their 15 years old, and inexperienced, what do you expect?
this is a great album, for anyone to own, especially hardcore likers, it will leave you wanting to scream "I may be 10 years old, but i still know whats up, i listen to the misfits everyday!" after your done listening...great record..>BUY IT
