One Thing, May 8, 2009
This review is from: Answering the Guy Questions: The Set-Apart Girl's Guide to Relating to the Opposite Sex (Paperback)
The one thing I come away with from reading Leslie's books, including this one, is the passion to seek more and more and MORE of Christ.
There are helpful tips in the book on how to dress modestly (more importantly where to get those kinds of clothes), act in a ladylike manner, and how to relate to guys without giving away the things strictly to be given in the confines of marriage. I found areas in my life where I had gaps that I wasn't even aware of. There are insightful comments by godly men and their viewpoint of femininity and godly women. It was truly refreshing and convicting to read those comments. It is wonderful to know Christlike men do exist and do respect women for more than just the physical body. It also caused me to be more aware of how I walk, sit, talk and behave around guys. Something that I think is innocent might make it more difficult for them not to stumble in certain areas.
There were a lot of sections taken from previous books, which is probably the only thing I wasn't too keen on. If you're looking for a matchmaking guideline book, this isn't for you. If you're wanting to learn how to be a more godly woman in the aspect of guy/girl relationships (whether it be in a friendship or romantic relationship) and how to live out those aspects then this book is for you!

Just what I want my girls to know!, September 1, 2009
This review is from: Answering the Guy Questions: The Set-Apart Girl's Guide to Relating to the Opposite Sex (Paperback)
Do your teens have questions about guys? This girls-only guide will help them understand God's plan for men, learn how to treat the opposite sex, and more! Using her mentoring experience and her own love story, Ludy challenges young women to live a Christ-consumed life that's irresistible to godly men.
What I love about this book is that it is honest and upfront, you can give it to your teenage daughter or you can go through it with them (as I plan to do). I love the way the point she is trying to make is that, who are you trying to impress? The kind of Godly man that you will actually want to marry will be more impressed by your passionate relationship with God than he will be by a short skirt. Just the kind of thing I want my daughters knowing!

Have You Given Up On Finding The Right Guy?, June 6, 2009
This review is from: Answering the Guy Questions: The Set-Apart Girl's Guide to Relating to the Opposite Sex (Paperback)
If you're a single woman who has given up on finding the right guy - Leslie Ludy has some powerful advice for you in her newest book: Answering the Guy Questions - The Set Apart Girl's Guide To Relating To The Opposite Sex.
Drawing from her own personal experience and the stories of young men and women who are tired of the oversexed dating scene, Leslie exposes the modern myths of today's critical relationship issues and offers a fresh, Biblical perspective on finding a mate.
Her first piece of advice? Put first things first! Have a Christ consumed heart and put Jesus Christ far above guys. Leslie writes that when you become consumed with Jesus Christ, dealing with guys becomes far less confusing.
This book is a fantastic "eye-opener" for today's young women who might be confused by what they long for in a man and what they see in the natural. Leslie exposes counterfeit manhood and shows young women the differences between the way the majority of modern guys are and the way God wants them to be.
Leslie teaches her readers that God created women to be cherished and although a large number of Christian men are not the valiant warriors God desires for them to be, women should not lose heart or give up their dream of marrying a godly man.
In Chapter Three, "Unlocking Your Feminine Power", readers are encouraged to influence the men in their lives towards strength and godly character. Leslie shows how arrogant, nagging, seductive femininity only fuels the problems that men are facing and instructs her readers how to apply God's standards in their lives, which in turn transforms their relationships.
Leslie stresses purity and accountability as you enter into a relationship and offers a "code of conduct" chapter to help you set up some basic guidelines for maintaining a God honoring relationship with the opposite sex.
From casual friendships to preparing for marriage, this book will help you maintain appropriate standards and boundaries in your relationships.
