George Mueller's life's work was to have G-d glorified, by living a life of total dependance on Him. One of Mr. Mueller's chief rules was never to tell people the needs of the orphanages, but only to ask G-d for help. This book is a collection of exerpts, a kind of journal, that describes the wonderful ways in which God did indeed answer Mr. Mueller's prayers by providing for thousands of orphans often on a meal to meal basis for over 40 years! The powerful ways that G-d provided for each need will touch every reader's heart. It will give encouragement to fellow Christians and challenge the skeptical. I have never read a more powerful account of Jesus' faithfulness to His children and would strongly reccomend this book to all people.

I read this book years ago while I was just a teenager. Just today I turned 30. Since the time I was a young teenager I have had a burden to help troubled children. The book only fueled my desire to work with children. I am also a devout Christian and know the tremendous power that prayer can bring into one's life. It is 2:32am where I am at and although it has been over 15 years since I read this book, I woke up after several dreams tonight with George Mueller's life on my mind. I can't rest until I know even more about George Mueller's life. I need direction in the way that I am to serve. The book is that powerful. More importantly, the testimony of Mr. Mueller's faith and dedication have inspired me to commit my life to the service of God. I hope you are inspired as well.

I'm about to begin reading George Mueller's Autobiography. Answers to prayer is an amazing testimony to the power of prayer in one man's life, and it shows how every believer can appropriate the promises of God for themselves.

This book is a spiritual autobiography of a man who ran multiple orphanages and a school by solely trusting in God to provide the support. George Mueller never asked any individual for money. This book will encourage the believer to place all of your cares and burdens on the Lord. The reader will be challenged to seek after God for who He is and not for what He gives. It will help take your prayer life to a new level. You can easily read it in two or three sittings.

2011 UPDATE: I loved this book so much that the writer in me produced a paraphrased edition! If you find the story of George Mueller inspiring, you will want to read it in today's language. SIMPLE TRUST, SIMPLE PRAYERS Simple Trust, Simple Prayers: Life-Changing Lessons From The Journals of George Mueller is the same story, just written for today's readers. From the early feedback already coming in, reading it in this form is making an impact on people's lives.

I first read this book about 30 years ago, as a young, new believer in Christ. Then I wanted to share it with my husband of 2 years. He is Jewish, and came to know Christ 4 years ago, so all things Christian are new to him. I remembered this book, and how much it taught me about prayer, so searched for it.

We read it together, aloud (the best way!). George Mueller served God by searching for a way to visibly, tangibly demonstrate that God is actively able and willing to answer prayer. Of course, Mueller teaches us a whole lot about what that prayer is like, and how it all works.

God is not really interested in, and has no obligation, to answer my usual prayer requests -- which are mostly things to make my life more comfortable. He is, however, very interested in things that glorify HIM!

Reading the book again... again changed my life.

Don't read it unless you're ready for some big change!

I read this book over and over and over. It is set up by dates that certain things were happening in his and the ministries life and them praying and waiting on God. It will increase your faith and has GREATLY encouraged me to go through impossible situations trusting ONLY in God and not seeking man's or the world's way of doing and dealing with situations in life. It helped me to more understand God's Kingdom and walking in His ways.......Totally Awesome!!
