3.0 out of 5 stars A little disappointed
I'm a little disappointed in this magazine. I got it mainly for my daughter (8 years old) because she loves science. There is very little information in them and they don't have many pictures. My daughter loves pictures of animals and insects and so forth. The issues come every 2 months, not every month. They are full of Advertisements for their museum and other...

5.0 out of 5 stars Top Notch Item Is Biblically Sound, Too!, October 4, 2009
This review is from: Answers (Magazine)
Unfortunately, a lot of times, Christian magazines or media publications can't compete excellence-wise with similar items being put out in the mainstream, secular market. Answers magazine, however, is an exception to that rule. I hardly ever read our mail or the other magazines sent to our home, but every time we get our Answers magazine, it captures my attention and leaves me feeling inspired and like I didn't waste my time for sitting down to read through it. This is a very, very good product with very, very good information, which supports a thoroughly Biblical Worldview. If it isn't already being sent to your home, take out a subscription today!

Not what I expected.

2.0 out of 5 stars Extreme extreme extreme, August 17, 2011
This review is from: Answers (Magazine)
This magazine is the far far right and very conservative. For example, one recent article set out to talk about Christian colleges and point out that some are not truly Christian. The reason some are not...their presidents did not state that the world was created in 6 literal days, or the great flood may have not covered the entire earth. Or we should be careful reading from famous Christian authors because they didn't rule out that maybe, just maybe, the world wasn't created in 6, 24 hour days, or maybe the earth is older than a few thousand years.

Articles are not based on science with sound reasoning, either. For example, one article discussed instincts and sea turtles and how they instinctively know how to march to the sea when they hatch. The article stated that this was something given by God and it could not be evolutionary because all the sea turtles that did not march to the ocean would die. Huh? That is perfect for evolution; only those turtles that do march to the ocean have a chance of survival and those that don't die after a few days of life never having the chance to pass on their genes. This would speed up evolution, not make in impossible. At least make sure your rationale is sound. Instead the article presents this instinct as a blissful miracle. Maybe it is, but not for the reasons stated.

I'm a Christian scientist...this magazine is not sound and makes everything seem like a God-made miracle. God made the world and can do what he wants, but this magazine is not realistic and not always based on sound science.
