Cosy Delivers Another "Must-Have " cd.,
By Paul Bellefeuille (Manchester, NH USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ant Hymn (Audio CD)
From the opening piano work by Kent Allyn on "Ladies Room" to the closing guitar notes by Cosy on "Anthym" you are taken on a journey that is both entrancing and exhilerating.Cosy likes to present songs that are at times brief but to the point. In "Ladies Room" Cosy brings us through all of the rituals of having to use a facility that isn't always hygienic, where one is forced to "use the little butt gasket paper cover". "Multiply Pierced" examines the thought process behind contemplating a metallic device or getting a tattoo but realizing that gravity can change one's plan."Demeter's Daughter" invites the listener down to the River Styx. "Dorothy and Eve" presents a scenario wherby Dorothy Gale from "the Wizard Of Oz" meets the Biblical "Eve" and the end results is that "there might be innocence but there are no mistakes".These are just a few of the songs and stories that are so beautifully told with Cosy making sure that you pay attention to all of the lyrics by means of impeccable articulation. To reveal any more about the songs would be like revealing the ending to a "Cult Classic" film. She is head and shoulders above any singer-songwriter of recent memory. The funny thing about her stylings is that everytime you visit these songs, you come away with even a greater appreciation for her artistry. Her song crafting is comparable to attending an art gallery exhibit. You can't help but notice something fresh and more revealing with each visit.
