The Royal Society of New Zealand,1990, paper covers, perfect binding, 311 pages, page size 6.75 by 9.75 inches (17 by 24.5cm) black and white line drawings and photos
This remarkable book saw only a few years in circulation before it went out of print. It is extremely difficult to find today althoguh there is quite a bit of demand for it. It is the only reference work that I know of that covers the molluscan fauna of the Antarctic Seas. Most of us will never encounter the shells that are found in this part of the world but this study is the result of the examination of material collected by marine research expeditions for more than 30 years prior to the publication of this work. The book is illustrated by 485 figures, most are drawings and some are black and white photographs that are often highly detailed close up looks at the differences that separate some of the "look alike" species that are found in these waters. These book is a used copy but it looks as if it was new.
