I leave food out all day for them and NO MORE ANTS thankfully !!!

When I have to dump the water it splashes a little, you may need to use a big bucket and be careful not to spill water everywhere.

I would give it a 4 if you can see the water level and had a bigger hole to add the water.

I really wanted to love this. We have an ant problem, and I needed something for my cat dishes. I had been putting the bowls in containers of water, and that was working except it was a hassle - food dropped into the containers and started rotting quickly. So every day it was another chore to clean out the pieces of food in the moats.

This seemed like a great solution, even though I read the other reviews here that it would be better if you could see how much water was in the tray or the top tray was removable. Well, I thought it would work for me. I thought I could work it with a dip stick, but that doesn't work well with clear water. I have good eyes and I thought I would be able to see how much water was in the bottom tray. It's really impossible.

I think if it were used outdoors it would be o.k., because if water spills onto the patio it's no big deal. But if you're using it indoors it isn't ideal, because it's very difficult to get the right amount of water inside and not feel that you're going to get water on your floor, especially as the water evaporates and you need to add more. How much more? You can't tell.

I returned this item, but I found something else that I think will work. It fixes the design problems with The Antblocker. It is called "The Antser." Search it on-line. I just found it recommended on a feral cat site, because those who trap, alter, and feed their colonies often have to deal with ant issues too. The trays separate, so you can see exactly how much water you are putting in. The design allows you to put some soap in with the water to kill the ants quickly (probably more humane that way, as I've noticed that ants can float around in plain water a long time).

I really am happy with this product. The only thing I wish it had,to make it easier, is a clear window of some sort to see where the water level is. I don't know if that is a possibility, but even without it this is a great product. I haven't had any bugs or ants in my cat's food dish since I've received this. Both, my cat and myself, are very pleased and I don't worry about ant spraying, which is toxic, around my cat. If you have an ant problem this really works as long as you keep the water level up to par.

So you have to fill with a good amount of water - 8 cups and maintain at or near that level. Problem is there's no way I can see to check the water level, so over time you're guessing how much water is in the tray. Pouring water in the small hole in middle of tray is not easy - water tends to spill over and collect on tray which becomes an issue. Seems to keep ants out of food well enough, but it's a somewhat sloppy solution and not terribly well-designed.

This product has kept ants off my dog's food. The only thing I wish the company would have thought of was perhaps a clear base so I can see the water content. Other than that, this is a great product.

The only thing this has going for it is that it does seem to keep ants out of the food. However, it's very flimsy and any attempt to move it splashes water everywhere. Even a small kitten stepping on one of the corners will deflect it more than an inch.

This product is about as I expected. I put three cat bowls on it, and the cats gather around. The raised platform is a little more civil (and a lot more ant-free) than when the bowls were on the floor.

The tray does represent a new chore. Every week it must be rinsed out, put back in place, and 6 to 8 cups of water SLOWLY and CAREFULLY poured into the little drain hole on top of the unit. Kind of a pain. There is also no way to check the water level if you should lose count while filling. For this money, there ought to be a funnel, and a way to "fill between these lines" rather than measure -- less of a science experiment. I think I will write "6 to 8 cups of water" on the bottom with a Sharpie so I don't forget.

It's a two-piece unit, and seems to be permanently glued together (unless I am missing something). I would like to be able to take it apart and clean inside, but cannot. I don't know why they glued it together. It looks like it would work exactly the same if it wasn't.

Seems to be the only one on the market, and does what I need it to do, so I'm happy with it. I may buy another for the water fountain, but the ants don't seem to be going after it at the moment.

Mediocre. It mostly works, but inelegantly. The tray is tipsy and flimsy. It's way, way too large for cat bowls. You must fill it with water regularly, and there is no way to tell if it needs water. Relocating it invariably involves spilling water that is stored inside it. Filling water is tricky because you use a hole in the center of the tray and any splashing just fills up the tray, not the reservoir below...the fill hole isn't tapered and the tray isn't sloped. It's 2X as tall as it needs to be. I have still had a few ants in the food...I don't know how.

This is one of those products that is a basically good idea but not really refined enough to be a great consumer product. The tipsy/flimsy table tray that isn't level, the inability to fill easily, and relocation issues make it seem more like a home built item from a mad inventor's laboratory.

It works. It's just not a super product.
