Elegant, quiet, very good value, just a tad too small,
By Tiny Islander (Canterbury, UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Super Mid Tower Case (Personal Computers)
I like the aesthetic design of this case a lot, it doesn't look cheap or home-brew at all. Neither is it over the top like some so-called 'gamer' cases. It is reasonably quiet, especially with the included 3-speed fan set to mid. It comes with a 500W PSU, which is more than adequate for a reasonably conventional rig.
I'm using mine with a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R motherboard, Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU, Sapphire Radeon HD3870 graphics card, 3 x DVD-RW and 3 x Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB drives. The only problem I encountered is the lack of depth when you start putting that lot together. The HD3870 graphics card is not huge, but neither is it tiny. It is pretty much the same width as the motherboard. But that negates using one of the 5 hard drive slots. Not a deal-breaker, but annoying. The other issue with lack of more internal space is that it's difficult to be tidy with the cabling. Nevertheless, once it's finished, and the door is closed, it's a very elegant box. One really nice touch; there's a little recessed square in the front facia, near the bottom, and Antec provide their own adhesive logo - but it's up to you whether you stick it on, or use something of your own, or leave it anonymous. I'd say that's quiet confidence in their product, and I like that.

Not Too Bad,

This review is from: Super Mid Tower Case (Personal Computers)
It's very quiet with the 120MM fan on the low speed setting, nearly silent. The cooling is effective, my processor temperature never exceeds 33 degrees C, use to run around 42. This is a big case, if you want a smaller one that looks like this one, check out the NSK4480B.
Antec quality is not what it use to be. The case arrived with a bent frame and broken plastic. Both had to have happened during assembly at the factory as there was absolutely no damage to the packaging. It appeared as if the bent frame didn't allow the plastic front to line up precisely which broke off the plastic clip. I was able to straighten the frame and there were enough clips remaining to hold things securely. This is my fifth or sixth Antec case and I've never experienced the lack of quality before.
