Spacious, GREAT looking, AMAZING COOLING,
This review is from: Antec Nine Hundred Two Ultimate Gaming Case (Electronics)
============================== Pros ====================================1. Very big and spacious. Plenty of room to work with. 2. Rolled edges. Didn't nick myself once while putting my build together. 3. It includes all the necessary screws, came with 6 studs already firmly installed and 3 more in the screw bag. 4. Includes the 5.25-to-3.5 adapter for your floppy or card reader etc. 5. Includes 4, yes 4 Blue LED TriCool fans that are VERY quiet but highly efficient. 3x120mm and 1 200mm at the top. An extra (optional) 120mm fan mount is included in the side window as well. 6. Speed control for ALL the fans on the outside of the case is a VERY, VERY nice touch. I keep all my fans on low and temperature on my system is about 35C. Also, the Big Boy fan's LED can be turned off from the outside of the case as well. 7. Removable air filters for all intake fans. Another nice touch. 8. Removable HDD cages *** NOTE*** 9. Black interior is SEXXXAYYY! 10. Plenty of space behind the motherboard tray for cable management and good location of cable routing holes. ============================= Cons ====================================== 1. ***NOTE *** The ONE complaint I have is the fact that you HAVE to remove both side panels to access the Hard Drive cages. This is the only thing I can think of that can be improved on this case. In order to clean the two front fan's dust filters I will need to always undo both sides, take out ALL screws, and THEN I get to pull out the cage and remove the dust filter for cleaning. I guess it's not that big a deal to some people but I plan on keeping my case as clean as possible so will probably have to go through that process every 2-3 months depending on dust build up. Also, another way to get around that is to only secure the drive cages with the screws on the side with the window. That way all you'd have to do is undo those 8 screws and be able to pull out the drive cages. ============================ Other Thoughts ============================= Other than the PIA that is gaining access to the dust filters, this thing is 100% SUPERB! I forgot to mention up there that the side window on this one is big enough to show off all your hardware but also covers the screws that secure the HDD cages. Nice. This was my very first build ever and it was very easy and was a smooth process mainly due to this case being so accessible. Originally I was going to get the Antec 300. But I saved up the extra money and got this one instead. Do not regret it at all. This case should last me for many builds to come. If you're looking for a midtower case I highly recommend this one if you can afford it. Very sturdy construction, great cooling and amazing looks. All-in-One. F.S.

This case is great - I would rate it 4.5 if Amazon let me as it is almost perfect for me. Big, roomy with good ventilation and the steel keeps things pretty cool. Fans are pretty quiet given that there are many and the location of them.I would have liked that the fan cables would have been better protected or have additional some cable management options specifically for them. Speaking of cable management, it is generally done very well in this case (apart from some of the fans) and I had no problems routing my component cables. The power supply is located at the bottom in the case - my OCZ StealthXStream fit without issue and its power cables were long enough (other have complained they needed extenders). The holes for cable management can be a little sharp and you have to careful not to nick your cables when feeding them through. One concern is that motherboard mounting is quite high (for x3 GPU support) and very close to the top fan. It is very easy to have something touch the top fan (the blades are very sharp!). I had no problem with my MB (Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-DS4H + AMD Phenom II 3.0GHz + Zalman 9700). The blue LEDs are nice and will add an eerie glow to any room at night. :-) The case is not ideal for LAN gaming parties as it very heavy before you add anything like GPUs and big cooling blocks of copper! You might have to borrow a shopping cart to lug it around ;-)

Antec 902 vs 900,
By
This review is from: Antec Nine Hundred Two Ultimate Gaming Case (Electronics)
Is the Antec 902 superior to the 900? Not necessarily.I own 2 Antec 900s and worked on a 902 for a client build. Both cases are very similar. Both offer: 1. Excellent cooling 2. Excellent versatility 902 offers these features over the 900: 1. Dust shields for all 120mm fans. 2. Fan speed controls mounted on case 3. Hole in case under CPU area (for gently lowering mobo w/ heavy heatsink) 4. 200mm fan is easier to remove than in 900. 5. Better top of case design for ipod. 6. Better finish However, the 900 has these going for it: 1. All 120mm fans are interchangeable and easily replaceable. 2. HDD cages can be moved 1/2" forward to give more clearance between mobo & hdds. In both of my 900 cases, I removed the 200mm fan completely and also moved the rear 120mm fan to the side (putting cardboard in the 120mm hole. This same procedure is more difficult on the 902 because the motor control for the 200mm and rear 120mm are linked together. Therefore, the rear 120mm fan cannot be relocated to the side. The front 120mm hdd fans also cause problems in the 902 because of the integrated fan control speed knob. It's not a problem in the 900. I need to say that I prefer positive-pressure case with all fans used for blowing in fresh air. In conclusion, both cases are great. However for me the "more primitive" 900 case suits me just a bit better for my builds.

Rock Solid Case,

The antec 902 computer case is a mid sized version of the antec 1200. This case is very solid and very well built, has a clear side to show case your build. Case is black inside and out, power supply is located on the bottom, has good cable management. The antec 902 uses screws to mount components, nothing fancy, just makes a solid build. If you want a very good case that is solid, looks good and will last for as many builds as you may want, then take a long look a the antec 902.

Aesthetically beautiful, a real killer look. I replaced the stock fans however with some Scythe 3k rpm fans. Fits my GTX295 card. I have a Thermalright 120 heatsink and i have to modify the plexiglass or w/e material it is because it wont fit with the sidefan mounts facing the inside. Overal sometimes i think I should have bought the larger version but In the end I really like the looks of this case. Nice airflow. The USB plugs on the front were a tight fit for my plugs but overtime they work just fine.Aesthetically pleasing, WELL CRAFTED. I doubt there would be another case that i would like over this one, and i spent a lot of time at fry's, computer central and micro center taking apart cases and looking them over.

The case arrived with a small corner smash evident on the shipping box. I looked over the case and it looked fine. Fast forward 3 weeks later when the rest of my parts have arrived and the PSU mounting holes do not line up and one of the case feet is 1/4" shy of making floor contact. My case was warped and I had to muscle it sqaure while a buddy tightened down screws. Check your product the day you receive it as I've learned my lesson. Case rocks btw, plenty of room for my BFG GTX-260. Fans are very quiet on low and medium speeds. Excellent air flow is keeping my core i7 920(no OC) just under 55C @ load with stock HSF. Routine maintenance of the air filters will be required. The washable dust filters and "just right" size of this case is what won me on it. Also, I love that you can route most cables thru back panel keeping clutter down in the bay. 4 stars because my case arrived damaged but I am still a happy customer.

The Perfect Case,

This review is from: Antec Nine Hundred Two Ultimate Gaming Case (Electronics)
I'm glad that I was able to spend a few months planning my build and that it included this case. Black Friday was definately the cheapest time to buy and to throw in a $30 credit for signing up for an Amazon credit card was simply "icing on the cake".Installation and cable management was a breeze. While Antec is light on documentation, it won't take too long to figure out how everything should fit. Antec provided all the hardware needed to fill the box with anything you can throw at it. I really like how you can remove three drives at once - this realy helps when working with cables. There are also these little knobs on the front that adjust fan speed. The only gripe I have is that the fans use the standard Molex power connectors. My motherboard supports the smaller 3 and 4 pin fan connerctors, and was designed to regulate the case fans. For this I give one less star for versatility. My Build: Case: Antec 902 Power supply: Corsair 750 Motherboard: Asus P7H57D-V EVO CPU: Intel i5-760 Cooling: CoolMaster Hyper 212 Plus RAM: Gskills Ripjaws 1600 Drive: WD Sata III 1TB w 64k cache and older Pata 320 GB drive Removable drive: LG BluRay Sata Writer Drive OS: Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

Excellent Case,
By
This review is from: Antec Nine Hundred Two Ultimate Gaming Case (Electronics)
I used this case on my 3rd build and use it as one of my go-tos for my computer-building business. The case is very slick looking right out of the box with its metal honey-comb mesh front and ample side window. There is also a handy tray on top for depositing your tools and the case's copious amounts of thumbscrews when doing maintenance. The front of the case is composed of 9x 5.25" bays, with 3 of the bays covered by foam-backed mesh covers. The other 6 are composed of two hard-drive units. The units consist of a 3-drive cage, a 120mm blue LED fan, a fan-controller, and a dust filter. These are useful if you are trying to organize your multiple-drive builds, such as putting your C: in one unit and then auxiliary drives for media, games, etc. in the other. For a mid-tower case, there is TONS of room in it. It is plenty wide, so even large CPU coolers will fit with ease. There is copious cable management space behind the motherboard as well, all of which can be accessed by removing a very solid-feeling metal panel. In fact, this whole case feels like you could hit it with a hammer and it would be safe. It's made of black-anodized metal and the interior of the case is black as well, giving it a professional look. As a very nice touch, there are two rubber grommets on the rear for water-cooling, and pre-drilled holes over the exhaust fan housing for mounting a radiator. There are, of course, cons to this case as well. For starters, the case is all thumb-screws. While it does make it quiet, maintenance can be a hassle as you dismantle what seems like an endless number of screws holding your components together. Additionally, large GPUs or aftermarket coolers, such as the Scythe Musasashi coolers, will be hard-pressed to fit in this case. If you are using multiple drives, the SATA cables will press up against your GPU and give you a harrowing feeling as you put it back together that one day something will break in there. I would recommend this case to anybody willing to put down the money on it. It's expensive, but you can rest assured that your case will last you for ages. It's in my opinion one of the ideal cases for an air-cooling, and even water-cooling solution. 5 stars for Antec on this one.

Great case if you enjoy dusting,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Antec Nine Hundred Two Ultimate Gaming Case (Electronics)
Its a beautiful looking case but its not a good functional design, its very hard for me to switch out hard drives considering that I have to remove my second graphics card to slide the hard drive in or out then the hard drive still ended up disconnecting my power switch cable from my motherboard because its located right behind the hard drive. To correct this problem I've removed all the thumb screws from both sides of the interior drive cages, then I've removed the front mounted grills and two fans so that I could remove the drive cages. I turned the drive cages around so that from now on I can more easily take the hard drives out through the front of the case.Another potential problem would be the fans creating a nice air flow which reduces the heat inside the case but also pull in alot of dust. Every week I have to open the case and blow out the dust just to keep it clean. I'm sure it would not take long for something to become clogged and over heat if I didn't do this. |
