These guys never, ever let me down!
My cousin bought a very nice gateway laptop last year, but something happened to it and he had to send it in for repair. The laptop came back with a new motherboard and a new power adapter, made by Lite On. Lite On is hands down the best optical drive manufacturer, but they suck at everything else. Anyway, the power adapter was DOA. He needed one pronto, after looking at some overpriced iGo adapters and no name Asian stuff, I stumbled on to this. Ordered 2 right away, one extra just in case. They work with all the laptops I tried. 2 gateways, a dell xps, HP, Lenovo and a Sony. It charges my cousins 17.2" Gateway laptop faster then the stock adapter and keeps the battery cooler. AWESOME! CAUTION! It may not work with some recent Dell laptops, from the last 3 years or so. This is because they place aspecial chip inside the adapter that allows the laptop to differentiate Dell products (or Dell licensed products) from everything else. This doesnt mean that a chipless adapter is better or worse. All it means is that not evepryone wants to pay Dell's license fees, as they significantly drive up the price. Over the years, I bought many aftermarket computer PSUs from Antec too. They honor their warranties. They replaced a 4 year old dead PSU, which worked 24/7, with a brand new model last year for me. The whole process took less then 2 weeks, including shipping time. Reasons to buy from Antec -Customer support based in California, they don't treat you like a moron, AND THEY SPEAK ENGLISH! -USA company, based in Fremont, California. -They honor their warranties. Some of their products have 7 year warranties! It's hard to find that these days. -Antec products are designed well. the packaging is good but not wasteful. Bought an XFX PSU 6 months ago, they must have killed 5 trees for that box. -What you see on the label or on the box is what you get. No BS. -15+ Antec products ordered, zero DOA, and only 1 had to be replaced, but only after 4 years of torture. replacement was free. Only payed to ship the item out to them ($10 via USPS)

I was nervous before buying the Antec Universal 90W Notebook Power Adapter because I had never used let alone seen a universal power adapter before but all my fears have since dissipated. This is really a high-quality product that does what it's meant to do - replace proprietary adapters that come from laptop manufacturers.
Included in the pack are 7 adapter ends that fit the 7 most universally used laptop power adapter ports. (I have a couple of laptops lying around and I was able to find an end for each one). The interchangeable ends fit into the cord very snuggly. The 6 other ends you do not use are stored in a holder that comes with the kit so they aren't getting lost easily. The cord is very long too which is a great feature. I would eyeball it at 7 or 8 ft; it comes with a velcro strap so you can bind it securely when you're on the move. It's reasonably priced and has worked well. Highly recommended. TIPS: -If your laptop requires an adapter wattage output less than 90W - 65W is most common - then you should get this 90W version of the Antec adapter. This will cause less strain to the adapter's components so that it runs much cooler and efficiently. -Make sure your manufacturer doesn't specifically engineer their notebooks to accept proprietary adapters because no universal adapter will work with that type of system. Dell, for example, makes you purchase their overpriced adapters by coding the signal received from the adapter so that only their adapters work on their notebooks. I know...Dell sucks.

Does what it should,

It's always wise to double check the needs of your device against the specs of the product whenever you are purchasing from a third party manufacturer, especially when you are buying a device with "Universal" in the name. Check the voltage and amperage and that your device uses a standard input size. That said, this adapter met my needs (an LCD monitor) and at a great price. I'm very happy.
