I got this antenna so cheap on Amazon, but i think you can get similar price on Ebay. Wherever it is, it is a fraction of what I can get from Toyota dealer. My antenna was broken by my mistake not to turn off the radio going through car wash. The antenna was ripped off from the car. Replacing this antenna should be straight forward. However, the plastic cable from old antenna was not completely out, so I had to disassemble the antenna drive. It wasn't so bad. (I removed about 8 bolt & screws and took me less than 1 hour. I didn't need the instruction, just memorized to put them back together in reversed order). After disassemble the antenna motor assembly, I was able to remove the rest of the plastic cable from old antenna. Put them back together, turn On the radio, wait until it done raising up the antenna, then insert the plastic part with the "teeth side" facing the rear of the car. Next, while holding the plastic line in position, have someone turns the radio off, then motor will reel the antenna down. It may not roll the antenna down completely, but it's okay. After a few times, it will be perfect. For AM, the antenna will be raised a few inches higher than when selecting FM radios.

If you are having clicking noises or not going down all the way after installing this (Terry and Crissty I'm talking to you) it's not because of this antenna it's because you have pieces of the old antenna still inside your motor.

I went to replace my antenna, got it to feed (Take off the antenna nut and then hold CD and am on the radio then turn the ignition to acc to get the antenna to eject) but was getting clicking and it wasn't going down all the way. Once I took out the motor and disassembled it I found all the pieces of the old nylon cable stuck in the motor. The removal and disassembly can be found on the internet and if you can turn a screwdriver and 10 mm wrench it's easy to do. Once I got the prices out of the motor and reassembled and put back in the car, the antenna went in just fine and no problems at all.

If you are having trouble, check the motor. That's where your problem probably is.

Great inexpensive antenna that fits like it should.

So, I had literally just purchased my Lexus LS400 from some nice little old man, like just handed him the money, signed the papers, etc. Filling it with gas and the pump asks me if I want a car wash, OF COURSE! Bend the factory one. Fast forward, I find this, the price is right, I buy it. It is a little tricky to install, you kind of have to just play with it, and definitely have another person there with you to turn your stereo on and off to help feed it in.

It works great. I think it might stay outa little farther than stock? But mine may not have gone out all of the way because of slight corrosion.

Easy part to replace. Seems like over half the older LS400 have the same problem. I had disconnected the power to mine after it wouldn"t retract fully, than bent it in two in a carwash. Cheap replacement.

Price was fair. I had it installed by my mechanic, and it works perfectly. The installation cost as much as the product, but that was my choice.
