"Anthems of a degeneration" is the debut album by Irish sleaze metal band "Million $ Reload", originally released in 2008 and currently reissued internationally by "Powerage" records.

"Million $ Reload" draws upon the sound of late 80s sleaze/glam bands like "Guns `n Roses" and "Warrant" while also referencing later comers of the genre like "Buckcherry". The line up features lead singer Phil Conalane, bassist Kie McMurray, drummer Davy Cassa and guitarists Andy Mack and B.A.M. Performance-wise the group are totally accomplished in the genre they have chosen to represent, evidently having spent good time as a live band, which only tightens their performance on "Anthems of a degeneration". The focal point of the band is undeniably their lead singer Phil who delivers style and intensity through his vocal performance being the main differentiation point of "Million..." effectively making them stand out.

Despite their European background, the themes of "Million..." reference directly US symbols and culture, namely "Goodbye New York" and "the last icon" which is a tribute to King Elvis Presley. Other favourites include "Livin' in the city" and "Give it all". Overall, "Million $ Reload- Anthems of a degeneration" is a great by for fans of sleaze metal hard rock built on the classic sound of "Guns `n Roses" and "Buckcherry" while at the same time manage to establish a sound of their own, if you enjoy the bands mentioned above you should try "Million $ Reload".

Somebody said there was an awesome Northern Irish band doing rock the way it used to be - back in the days of denim waistcoats worn over the top of leather jackets, skinny legs in drainpipe jeans tucked inside cowboy boots etc. Well there's no doubt that there are definite references to ACDC not just in the rhythm guitar but the voice this guy has - on some songs you can imagine him fronting an awesome ACDC tribute band - indeed one of the numbers pays tribute to Bon Scott and is delivered with a heartfelt passion that is fantastic to hear. However they're not a throwback - they offer up the best bits that Cinderella, Buckcherry and even some Britny Fox thrown in for good measure. I've spent the last 15 years trying to find music that i missed out on first time around that gives me a fix of what was so good about 80's and early 90's rock - and I've had loads of false alarms with referrals of weak, poorly produced stuff. However Million Dollar Reload makes up for so much of that wasted time. If you like any of the bands I've mentioned and even stuff like Last Vegas then do yourself a HUGE favour and get this. Then go for a drive with some of your mates in the car and turn it up and spread the word - you won't regret it!

I have to say, some of the reviews I am reading for this band are strange. There are so many things you can say when it comes to comparing one band to another.I will say that this will stick with you after you spin it about two to three time and it will then be a staple in you colection !!!. I dont get the buckcherry comparison. ACDC maybe a little. a little guns and roses .These guys are much better than the crop of ACDC clones out there today song writing wise. I hear a lot of things if you want to compare , If you have listened to music for forty or fifty years you can hear so many great rock bands in there music. So That being said. These guys are playing there arse off this is straight forward Awsome /heave rock and roll I can't come up with one band that sounds this good and strong rocking on song after song after song Get IT !!. On a cd in a long time. Exception anything ( slash) touches.I have watched this band on youtube and It doesn't sound so good .I have to say the recordings are poor because how they are being recorded. After discovering the band second album and loving it. Then finding the bands first album and it also being great . I have been waiting for the coming live album which I have heard a cover of the cowboy song on that is amazing. Also the third studio Album coming 2014 .If some how they top the first two albums or even match them the album is shure to be amazing . I consider this band to be one of the top largely unknown rock band in the world period. based on there work to date. They probably won't get much play in the usa because corparations own the air waves. almost only play proven or the same music over and over and over again. But understand This Band Rocks. I rate this band five tokes and a shot of your choice.

Skip this one and get A Sinner's Saint instead. Sinners has much better songwriting, with some instant classics. Great band!

This band is just what America needs today. Rock music in the States is LAAAAAAAAAAME! Sorry, Shinedown, P.Roach, Buckcherry (your an exception)....Nickelback!-(Good Rock) but....these bands are too commercial, no thanks to record companies. M$R, this band kicks serious arse! Anthems of a Degeneration doesn't have a single bad song, buy the time is CD stops playing you're on 10 and want 10 more! This is one of most solid rock records in 10yrs! I'm not sure there's another record out there in this category that can hold a candle to this Record! I'm not going to spend time on the indvdl songs....trust me, They Are ALL Great! (Full Disclosure: I have a Dig.Dwnld-turned into a CD)....would I buy this in CD format, sure if the current cover were printed this way, but this is a remastered version of the original recording.

Who ever reads this and likes Hard Rock (like the days of old GunsNRoses, Motley, RATT, Slaughter) Then these guys are for you too. You won't be disappointed!
