5.0 out of 5 stars "SOMEBODY TOLD ME" LITTLE MILTON'S GREAT !!!!!, March 15, 2010

This review is from: Anthology 1953-1961 (Audio CD)
This anthology focuses on Little Milton's pre-Chess recordings at Sun circa 1953-1954 and Bobbin 1958-1961. This is the best collection of this time frame available and is split almost in half over the 27 cuts presented here. During this period of his career you can hear the process of 'finding the VOICE' which would latter become his trademark at Chess. However, these cuts display some of his best blues guitar work which, unfortunately ,would be dispensed with at the latter Chess recordings. If you're a Little Milton fan and you are interested in hearing some great blues of his pre-Chess stints: PICK THIS UP!!! You'll hear a broad variety of near-jazz, doo wop, rock & roll, electric blues & brass and urban R&B. A GREAT COLLECTION!!! 'Nuf said!
