Made in UK in 2001, Serial# VSOP-CD-338, Playing Time 70:55If you thought Volume 1 (simply called "Anthology") was worth purchasing, this second installment is as impressive. It covers the artist's career up to 1990's "Lock Up The Wolves" album, and the last 3 tracks are from the "Intermission" EP. DIO's trademark vocals, crunchy guitar work, melodies full of hooks but with pounding power, everything's there. If you're unfamiliar with the band, both anthologies are great. Borrow them from a friend! (If none of your friends have any DIO, they're not the RIGHT friends...) The early albums are classics of the metal genre, so you might (and should) opt for buying them in their original form, starting from the debut "Holy Diver". |
