Though some of the titles may appear familiar to the ALASKA afficionado, ALL the tracks on this CD are taken from non-album sessions.

Except for the last track (which is a demo version recorded in 1984), everything else was recorded back in 1982.

Most of the material sounds "completed", but somewhat lacks the polish and engineering quality found on the albums; the use of Linn drums (for which Bernie apologizes in the liner notes) on some tracks cause a somewhat "emptier" sonic quality to the recording.

It does however make for an interesting document, especially since some tracks never made it with finished arrangements on their albums.

I suggest that only the die-hard Marsden fans pick this up, especially since the performances are somewhat laid back (read "un-impressive"), more like run-throughs than convincing efforts. And in answer to Bernie's dedication at the end of the liner notes ("here's to volume 2!"), please don't... not unless it comes out at a "budget" price!
