This is goth indust/dark trance at its darkest. Very aggressive and relentlessly hateful. Monstrous pounding beats, laser synths and mechanically distorted hoarse vocals leaving a bitter solemn aftertaste. It is a tad cliche but these days you have an option of completely dead-end or at least semi-cliched yet promising. It stands out in its own right within a constricting genre - sustaining a strong level of hostility and stubborn pessimism towards humanity, evoking a droning ominous atmosphere yet it's also very trance-like and distantly blissful. Every track is a strong damnation anthem which doesn't romanticise over morbid fascination- it's explicitly resentful and ideal for when you want to shut yourself out from civilisation, lost in unconscious thoughts.
Although, one thing I will say is that pretty much all the tracks sound the same - so it does become boring.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice introduction to the band, March 15, 2007
This review is from: Anthology (Best Of) (Audio CD)
I got this as a gift, without having heard anything from this band before. I am quite the fan of electronic music but I must say Suicide Commando goes way beyond that... There is a huge selection of the best Suicide Commando songs on this album which all move to the same dark Industrial Electro path. The lyrics are mostly sick, but add quite a bit to the whole harsh claustrophobical feeling that the songs try to invoke (and succeed quite well I must add). This is by no means happy listening as many could say about electronic music, it's twisted, harsh and a rewarding listening to one who gives attention to what's going on here. Highly recommended to fans of industrial and electronics and fans of bands like Velvet Acid Christ.
