An Anthology of Black Folk Wit Wisdom and Sayings by Vanessa M. Cross,
This is a delightful little pocket-size book of proverbs from Africa and the African Diaspora. The illustrations are wonderful. I am the author. I had a wonderful time putting this collection together and am glad that it has been continuously published for more than a decade now! Even though Amazon doesn't have the book cover image up, and is indicating that the author is unknown, as the author I would like to thank all of those who continue to support my little book.

This review is from: An Anthology of Black Folk Wit Wisdom and Sayings (Hardcover)
This is a wonderful collection of proverbs from Africa, the Caribbean and the African Americas. They are darlingly witty proverbs that are quite insightful and always colorful. "Do not blame God for having created the tiger, but thank him for not having given it wings!" - Ethiopia. There are also beautiful illustrations of various kente cloth patterns throughout the book. This is a thoughtful gift for anyone.
